I owned a 07 avalanche for 4 years, someone rear-ended me a couple weeks ago , I recently upgraded to a 08 LTZ. I trying to find out all the info I can on the auto leveling , I guess the previous. Owner lower the back or something not working right , it's sits very much lower than my 07 did , is there a way to adjust the rear back to factory specs or do I need to replace compressor . Haven't towed anything with it ,back lower than the front ,and don't handle the Best any information on this would be very helpful..

Previous owner may have removed the air compressor and the rear air shocks instead of fixing the system correctly.

I never understood that.

But, it ain't my truck.

If those parts have been removed, you can always reinstall them and your truck will work as designed.

What a lot of these guys that decide to replace the air shock system with regular old shocks often do not take into account is the fact that the rear coil spring rate on an air shock equipped truck is much softer for the good ride and the fact the springs do not have to handle all of the load.

That's most likely why the rear of your truck appears to be sagging.

Before I fixed my blown out air shocks and burned up air compressor, the rear of my truck sat 1 full inch lower at the trailer hitch.

With the working shocks installed, the truck automatically raised back up that inch.

Checked all the fuses and all the original shocks and compressor are still intact , rides smooth but u feel every bump in the road ..

Twelve year old shocks may be getting a little worn out.

Took my avy to chevorlet dealership , to have everything checked out , the compressor and rear shocks need to be replaced .. getting parts not from Chevy and make repairs to see if this clear up my issue

When I bought my 2004 Cadillac Escalade EXT back in 2012, both of the rear air shocks and the air compressor were blown out and burned up.

I replaced the shocks at all corners and the air compressor for the rear air shocks with products from Arnott Industries.

I found that Advance Auto Parts carried the Arnott line and if I bought all of the gear from them and either picked the parts up locally or had them shipped to me, I could use Advance Auto's 20% off on line coupon.

So, I ordered on line and drove a couple of miles to the store to pick up my parts.

All of the parts have been on my truck for over 7 years and 100K+ miles.

Everything still works as expected.

I went to O'Reilly this afternoon , and bought both rear shocks and the compressor made by arnott going by to the Chevy dealership for them to install everything tomorrow , I paid 255.00 for diagnosis today , which will go towards repairs .. let you'll know what happens next
