I replaced the part in early 2018. After fueling CEL came on with p0449 code. Today examining the faulty solenoid I see that there is some evidence of melted plastic as well as a crack on the plastic where the solenoid resides. Replaced with new unit and jumper harness but CEL remains on. I feel like it went out immediately the last time I did the repair. Does it need several cycles to reset lamp?
Is there a fuse that may be open due to the failure mode I observe? It’s an 09 LTZ with 80k miles. Thanks in advance..

update...took to Advance and used their scan tool to reset CEL and light is out now even after several start/stop cycles. Hopefully it stays off.

Yes it can take several (even many) cycles for each of the conditions to be met for a full evap test and the resulting error code. Good luck with the light staying off!

BTW, what is causing it to melt?
