Dumb question, but can someone explain that the "Full Time DRL" mod is, and how to do it?? I already got my ambers, but of course they don't stay on full time (only during the day).

thanks

It's exactly that; the DRL's stay on any time the ignition is on, including at night. There's several threads running around about how to do the mod. It's different for 02's than 03 and newer.

Can I ask what is the purpose of the mag lite mod if you live where it gets sooo damn cold that the batteries would freeze if they were to be in the flashlite in the side compartment?

1- 20+ rims? ? ?2- led interier lights? ? ?3- headers & flowmaster? ? ? 4- midgate sub box? 5-drop or lift? ? 6- billet grill? ?7-rem start? ?8- full time blue DRL 9-? msd wires? 10-? programer..?? ? ? ? i have? ? ?1-2-3-4-7? ? ? ? ? -8 not full time yet? ?-9

Start off slow then work your way in to bigger things. Being that this is your first post, let me be the first to say welcome and here is the gift that you should keep in a safe place. This is the Link to Advice.

You will want to keep this in your favorites for future reference. It's pretty much everything you want or need to be done. Consider this your Christmas present. :B:

Manny

I know this is an old thread, but thank you for this link!  As a new member to the boards, I see a lot of mods mentioned by name but have found it hard to find specifics about.  This link is great.  Now just need to spend some time looking through all the threads and see what I want to do next.

I'm kind of all over the map, but here is what I've done so far:
1. New speedo overlay (had to switch to metric)
2. Lock pick and parrot bluetooth
3. Winter rims and tires
4. Headrest DVDs for the Lil ones
5. Debadged and De-moulded
6. 3M (did this first actually)
7......
Next is a volant CAI, Corsa touring exhaust, and a Magnason 1900 supercharger kit!

After that a transmission cooler and we'll go from there....

Since I've had mine a while, this should be fun...

1. Stereo, all door speakers, 5 channel; amp, 8" sub under bench
2. Transmission cooler - A must
3. Tinted front windows to match
4. Banks Ram Air - None of the CAI's make actual power so I wish I'd just done a drop in
5. Cranked Tbars to fit 33's - things change, after 80k miles on the 33's, I lowered it around 285/50/20's
6. Diablo Predator - Nice tool but, I out grew it and went to a real shop tune
7. Rebuild and regear rear axle to 4.10:1
8. Swap junk AutoCrap Transfer Case out for NP149 AWD Case
9. Corsa Touring Exhaust and Kooks Headers and catted Y pipe - see 6, Tune
10. Coilover conversion, bye bye Tbars

I've seen a lot of mods but this one. When he PM'ed me for help I thought he was crazy but I soon learned he was serious.

HOLY THREAD RESURRECTION BATMAN!

1. Find a good friend who drives/loves Chevys. Modding is twice the fun w/ a friend
2. Sway Bars, bushings and Links - You won't be sorry you spent the money.
3. Debadge - If they don't know it's an Avalanche, you didn't want to know them anyway
4. Tint - Sun fade and cracked dashboards suck
5. Brake upgrade - The Stock brakes, both platforms, more stopping power is needed, another one you won't be sorry about
6. Ambers - Just do it
7. Mag lite and fire extinguisher - You'll be sorry they're not there if you ever need them
8. System - H/U, amps, subs, mids, highs, signal processing - If you can't do it right, save your money till you can.
9. Suspension - Take it down, or up, or just make is stiffer whatever your preference is, consider number 10 while doing so.
10.Wheels/tires - you know you don't love those stockers, or do you? get creative w/ some paint/plisti-dip

Did you ever get rid of the Transfer case and how is that coil over conversion doing.  Still happy with the set up?

Yes, I still have the NP246 on a cart next to my tool box. I'll need it for dyno pulls since no one around me has a 4 wheel dyno.

I love, love, love the coil overs. It drives amazing and way more tunable. I still may do custom upper mounts to allow longer travel but, that's it. Hell I keep researching ideas to do a set for the rear. I've been deployed for a while and my wife drives it most days and is completely happy with it too. I love that we've each taken it for alignment checks and nobody ever says a thing about it but apparently set it without gripes or issues.
