So I am at the same crossroad so many other members have been at concerning 20"s or 22"s tires
My dilema is that my AV is a cladded Z71 w/a stock suspension and although I like the 305/50/20"s I am concerned and do not want to trim any cladding or have any tires hitting when driving. Since a lot of members do not post their AV type in their signature sometimes its hard to decipher what type of AV they have or what mods they have done.

So Cladded Z71 AV members who have a stock suspension what size 20" Tires have you gone with without having to do any modifications?

TIA for your input ;)

TNAV, Since the suspension on the Z66 and Z71 are virtually identical I'd be glad to give you my take on this.
I'm running 275/55-20 Eagle LS tires with absolutely no sign of rubbing.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Vetman and mshagan for your input. I like the profile of the 275/55/20 size I just don't like Goodyear LS Tire as an option :(

I am with chad2fw on this one. As my wife said, don't settle for 20's if you've been thinking about 22's. Everybody and their grandmothers (literally) have 20's. You need to stand out a little. I have a wbh and it does not rub with the 305/45/22, but it does ride like poop off-road. Mikesav.

part of that question is related to how wide a rim you go with
a 305 may be fine on a 8.5, but put it on a 9-9.5 w and it may rub, because the wheel may have a different offset, which would put the outer edge further away from the truck, causing it to hit on turns

I went with 285x50x20 on a 8.5>>no rubing
plus I got the best tire on the market for the Av's
the Goodyear Fortera

Oh bye the way. 22x9.5 wheel + 305/45/22 tire + offset? + wbh = no rub ;D.
Hmmm I wonder if this will fit/work on a cladded AV withoutany rubbing or modifications :0:

I have 285/50 20's on mine (its cladded) and have no problem with rubbing. I have the Goodyear Eagle GT II's. Pretty economical you can find them at Tires.com for about $150 a piece.

As you all know I have the 20x81/2 Phatt's on my Av with Falken Z04's size 295/50 p20's no rubbing. I do have new Enkei's on the way. There size will be 22x9 I not sure on the tire yet But it will be from Falken....

Glenn Enkei Av :B:

The local wheel shop by me says that you can go 305/40/22's with no rubbing and he showed me 3 Avalanches that he installed these size tires and rims on, they weren't lifted at all and showed no signs of rubbing. I don't know about 50's though seems like they might rub.

And all 3 were cladded AV's?

Has anyone fitted a stock cladded 1500 Z71 with Nitto Terra Grapplers 305/55/20's ? They are about an inch taller in overall diameter than the 305/50/20's that many people have put on without any rubbing. Width wise they are about the same.

The actual tire specs are: Dia. 33.07", Width 12.60

Thanks!

I don't see 33"s fitting on a stock Z71 with cladding?

when i go to Atlanta next month i will be looking for some 20's or 22's at Godfather's customs. maybe i will get lucky. >:D

I'm leaning towards 22"s for my cladded AV ;)

Any members with a cladded AV running 22"s without modifications?
If so please post your details here ;)

TIA

hmm, should I put a set of 24's on my Av with the 3" body lift? >:D

Can you get BFG TA/KO's or Nitto Terra Grapplers to fit 24's?

Grey >:D

(no I have not lost my mind, just adding some humor)
