A while back, I gave the blower motor bearing a shot of spray grease to quiet it down.
It worked great for a while.
Today, when I turned on the fan to get a little heat in the cabin (it's chilly in the morning, hot in the afternoon), it started making this awful squawking noise.
This afternoon, when turning on the A/C....same thing.
I'm thinking the blower motor bearing is so worn that the fan has started to rub on the housing.
Thoughts?
Here's a little vid I took this afternoon.
Thanks for watching!

New blowers are cheap enough why not just replace it.
$35 on Rock Auto. heck that is 1/2 tank of gas

not much to repair on them..

At least it waited till the weekend.

He's driving a 2500, that's a 1/3 of a tank of gas..⛽

The weekend was lost.
Every parts store around here wanted north of $100 for a blower motor.
That's life in Canada for you.
We pay more for everything just because...
I guess not having to pay for hospitalization makes it worthwhile.
;D
I ordered one off RockAuto instead, and threw in a set of spark plugs and what not that could be added without increasing the shipping cost.
Even with shipping, was still way ahead of the game.
Anyhow - the stuff arrived this afternoon, so I got to it and popped the new motor in there.
It did not come with a new foam seal, so I took the seal off the old motor and used that.
You'd think they'd provide a seal. Too expensive, maybe. Lol.
Something to watch out for, if you ever do this.
Back to cold A/C....without noise! (y)
