New to the forum here and appreciate any help. I have a 2002 Avalanche 2500 with the 8 liter big block and allison transmission. She is a beast and have had her for almost 12 years. A few months ago the radiator started leaking where the plastic and aluminum bits maye up near the bottom. Took awhile but I finally found a new radiator, problem is I got it in and the fittings for the built in motor oil cooler on the drivers side of the radiator were the wrong size. It was an online order from orielys, so I call them up and they say I have to go through Murray's who manufactured it. Called Murray and they sent me more fittings but they are the same ones it came with the first time. Called Murray back and they basically say sorry for your luck, and they can't help me. Has anyone run into this issue? They are the quick fit snap on metal fittings like a typical trans line fitting but it's for the motor oil cooler. Right now I have a high pressure rubber hose on the lines just bypassing the cooler but I dont trust it getting g far like that, the big block beast has a lot of oil pressure!

Welcome to the club.. It should have come with both so you need to find the other ones or your out of luck and you will have to buy another radiator to get the oil cooler working. They sell them online but getting the correct ones is next to impossible.. Also make sure the radiator you bought has a 2 row core, it's a little over 2 inches wide. I've seen the replacements with only 1 row of tubes, they say it's as efficient but physics says no.

Both of these say they fit 2003 and one says 04, 05, and 06.. But I don't know if either with fit your radiator.. Some auto parts stores will stock them..

Also you say you have an Allison trans? Unless someone swapped it in to your AV it's not an Allison. You should have the 4L85E which is a very good trans..
