I did search and read thru 8 pages but can't get my head around the process. Really don't want to break my grill.
Just got an 02 Avalanche 1500 Z71 and I need to get to the A/C condenser to replace the discharge hose.
Guessing I need to remove the grill to get to it.
I removed the 3 clips along the top of the radiator cover and actually the 4 other retainers too, before I realized its all one piece.

Found a video of 03-06 Silverado grill removal, is the process basically the same?

Pictures would help me out a bunch.

I also own an 02 av. My grille had a screw behind the grille bowtie. Just popped the emblem and removed the screw. Grille came right off. Not sure if it's a OEM item but mine had one. Maybe the previous owner installed it on mine. Just a thought.....

those donot show front grill.

If I remember the whole thing is just held in with clips... and pulls off some clips may break.

go to MODification: GRILL SECTION sure threads in there.

Thanks for all your replies.
The grill on my 02 avalanche is all one piece. If the radiator cover wasn't part of the grill I'd only need to remove the cover.
Thanks 2004Slickside, the diagrams are great!

I got it off with the advice you gave me, thank you. No screws for mine just the 3 plastic retainers on top then pulled right out.
YGMN, I'll look for the section you referenced.

The radiator cover on mine is all broken and glued back together but the rest of the grill looks new. I wish I could just replace the cover but I'm going to need the complete grill
