I was at the dealership today and they had a forest green 2002 AV that was a "Redwood Edition". It had a special Redwood Edition logo on the seat backs and a Redwood Edition badge on each side of the body where the NFE badge is along with an additional badge on the back.

It had Westin Chrome nerf bars, what looked like 18" chrome wheels and with low profile tires.

It looked really sweet. I will have pictures either today or tomorrow... didn't have a camera on me when I saw it.

Has anyone heard anything about this before? I think it's a custom job but I'm not sure, it was very well done and was factory quality work.

I haven't seen that version, but I have seen several AV's in CO with the NHL Avalanche logo on them.

I think Chevy is doing some local special edition AV.

It's weird that they would do a Redwood Edition in Florida.... Redwoods are in California. (other places too but that's where most people associate them with)

You'd think for Florida they'd do something NASA related or with our Sawgrass trees or something.

Well, maybe they could double up on the natual disasters and call it the Hurricane Edition Avalanche. ?;D

I'm glad they didn't name it the "Blackwood" edition. But I'm thinking Chevy would have done a better job on a "Blackwood" edition. >:D

They did make a GMC Typhoon years ago. :)

An Avalanche Hurricane would be like an oxy-moron though, or something.

Pics please, I 'll bet it's a dealer job...had a 85 s-10 sport (dealer put on stripes, badging, an aftermarket step bumper and a tonneau cover)...was the instrument cluster the same or different??

I'm betting it's a dealer deal. Smith Chev. down in Goo's country does a lot of aftermarket stuff on Av and then sells them as new.

Have you ever seen a dealer that didn't try and get a SUBSTANTIAL Price increase for an add on? When I bought mine last july they were just comeing in and the dealers were trying to get money over and above the sticker. I didn't fall for that and got a substantial discount, but of course that was before all the rebates and 9-11

That is not an issue for a certain MOD my AV before I buy it crowd. They have some client list. ;)

Well, this one had about a $2200 tire & wheel package... but it was worth it... its tires and wheels are sweet!

It was only $37k as equipped with a bunch of after market additions.

I'll have a camera with me when I go back over there today.

Can't wait to see the pics of this mysterious "Redwood Av. (y)

I wish we had some cool dealers in my area. There all boring, they never upgrade or modify anything :-[

Copy down the vin number or take acloseup shot of the window sticker so we can seewhat was on this redwood av to see if the dealer did all teh addons or it was a local special edition

Yeah, I'm thinking this was done by the dealer. I saw it for second time last night and it didn't have a regular window sticker, just one of the dealer stickers. I looked online to try and find it but couldn't find a green one anywhere near the price they wanted. But I found a few for around the price before the Redwood edition.

The tires & wheels are super sweet though. I wouldn't mind getting a set for my AV.

My dealer had an AV that he put the Regency package on - it was sweet but they want 50K for it. NOT!
