We have a 2002 ...1500 with 108,000 on it and have decided to pull a small ( 5,000# +- ) travel trailer, so I want to check and observe everything before I do. I want to replace the rotors and pads due to the originals having a slight shimmy with braking. It's had pads and the original rotors have been turned.
I am thinking of drilled and slotted rotors and ceramic pads. Anyone have advice as to pro or con?
Also I am unsure how to determine which drive axle I have and there are apparently two choices for rear rotors depending on which axle is in the truck. The lugs are 6 bolt. It has tow/haul package accessories. I bought the truck ( at 102,000) from a friend who bought it new in 2001 and he has been meticulous in maintaining it.
