ok help me out here. I have one DRL that likes to not go on every-now and then. Now im pretty sure its a bad connection in the light in the light housing because if i give it a good tap it will go on. I have tried flipping around the bulbs, cleaning up the metal connectors, and also putting dielectric grease. And it always is either on or off when i start the truck. any ideas to fix it?

You still haven't done this mod!?? Get crackin!
Vertabatt I used your very detailed pictorial & instructions on page 1 of the thread and got the desired mod. I opted for the FTDRL Amber lights (Diode 3 & 4) Mod and it looks fantastic. Great job on your instructions, keep up the good work.

Glad you got it done!  Enjoy the full time DRLs!

Yep, did a few at PNW MiniMeet too!

Now, you got 2007/8 FT DRL figured out yet?

Nope, and no plans to unless I get one!  :p

It shouldn't be too hard to figure out, just gotta know which relay does what and figure out how to link them properly with diodes.

The problem is there IS not a DRL relay.  I have looked at it a little, but haven't spent a whole lot of time on it.

BTW, just got trAVelingman's widow's 06 done this weekend.  (y)

with this mod can i have all the lights on except the HI's?

Read through the directions once and it will be very clear what you can do.  It's really up to you which diodes you install to get your desired result.

i went to radio shack earlier but they didn't have the type you bought
what the difference and does it matter?

You can pick up some larger diodes, but they may not fit into the relay slots as well.  I don't think I'd go much smaller, not sure a smaller diode can handle the load.

Try another radio shack or hardware store. Worst comes to worst I can mail you some, I still have a bunch.

They can order the ones you need and have them mailed right to your house. I did that with the sailpanel leds.

Hey Vertabatt,
I've tried everything in the book you wrote about the all on hi. ?( very detailed and easy to read i might add. ?TY) and I'm still beating myself in the head because i can't get the things to work. ?when I try to do just the fogs and the hi's, I lose both when I hit the hi's. ?Can't figure that one out

Check your diode direction.... sounds like a backwards diode to me.

For fogs on high you only need one diode: going from the high 85 slot to the fog 85 slot, stripe pointing towards the high relay.  This will activate the fog relay when the high relay is activated.

Also, the fog relay is different from the high, low, and DRL relays don't get them mixed up when you pull them out. You will see that the High, low, and DRL all have one number stamped on them and the fog relay has a different number on it.

When in doubt, return it all back to stock and start over with a fresh diode.
