Honestly don't think there would be a problem with it.  You might get pulled over, but I don't see how a cop could give you a ticket because your fogs and high-beams are on at the same time.  How would he know you have them hooked up to the same switch?  ???

well i answered my own question yes cops at topsail island dont like it i got pulled
an he said its considered impersonating a police officer so i can have it
just cant have my blues in down there but other than that there is no problem
got a warning since i wasnt from the area :jacked:

also since you will ben the diodes a lil and if you cant find the clear wrap
simply bend one side of all 4 tips down do designate the  colored or non colored side
stupid ticket is delt with now and i got my lights switched so there back down to the 8k hid 35 w instead of my 10k 55w

I've seen people use one color of shrinkwrap on once side, and a different color on the other side, so they know which side is the colored side....

Personally, since I bought the diodes at Radio Shack, they came with one end "Taped" to some paper-like tape, and I put the shrink-wrap on while the diodes were still attached, so I would pull one off at a time, and had the un-wrapped diodes to use as a basis on which side had the band on it or not...

vertabatt killer freakin post my friend! Funny I seriously just installed my Ambers and was like "man it would be cool if I could have them bad boys on at night too!" came inside and hopped on the comp. and low and behold found this sweet post! Beautiful job my friend I love it, and I will be doing it tomorrow! Thanks again!

I earlier installed diodes 1 and 2, for 4 high beams and fogs. On the weekend I added diodes 3 &4 for DTRL's on with high and low beams.
Now I have All on high beams.

Mod was super easy. Worked the first time and looks freakin awesome. Only used diodes 3 and 4, but with sylvania silverstar headlights and ambers in the DRL's it looks sweet! Thanks again!  (y)

I did this great mod last evening. I bought a ten-pack of diodes for $1.49 and already had the shrink tube. Of course I got in a hurry and lost track of the stripe side of the diodes so had to do the trial/error method :E: but it still went fairly quickly. I went with just the fogs and all-4 on high for now. I'd like to call this mod "stadium lighting". Did a quick test in the neighborhood after dark and all I could think was wow! I blinded a couple of teens walking up the street. Sorry teens.

Now all you need is train horns to go with the Highs/Fogs...  >:D

does anyone know how this will work if i have HID fogs and HID low beams?

The FTDRL will work, but I'm not sure on the All-4-On-High.  I've been wondering this myself.  I do know it's possible to take the Fogs out of the "All-4" configuration by not installing that diode.

Yes, I have high, low, and fog HIDs that come on simultaneously.

Did this mod this evening and I freakin' love it! (All-on- high)  Thanks for the simple, clearly-written instruction with illustrations.  What was perhaps intimidating for many before, is now a piece of cake.  So thanks Vertabatt... I hope you wrote instructions for other mods too.  Can't wait to do another one!! - BPA (y)

I must have messed something up here.

On Sunday afternoon, I put in the mod as listed. I kept the diodes (heat shrinked) in the same direction.

It seemed to work - however it was daytime so I couldn't check the FTDRL portion.

I immediately drove over to a buddy's house and turned off the truck.

Five minutes later I came out and noticed the lights were still on. The console wouldn't let me turn them off.

I pulled out the wires.

Any ideas?  ???

Probably a backwards or crossed diode. Just try it again, you'll get it.

Yeah, redid my wires and got new diodes. There was another diagram I printed out here that had the wiring without the sockets. I also tried each one first.

Looks great!  Now I can't wait to drive at night.  :p

Trust me, you'll  it...

I can wait, night driving usually involves going to/from work.

I have FTDRL, I rarely ever use High beams but I am thinking about adding the diodes for ALL4HI because of this one jerk at work. Many of us sit in our vehicles at lunch and always back in, jerk will park across from me with his lights on. He's too stupid or lazy to turn lights off. I'll give him some light

ROTFL!

I gotta do a bit more driving. On the way to/from church I noticed my lights were on, and it is very sunny. I'll check out what it is doing during the day, just to be sure.

Hmm.

Did some early-morning driving and some day driving on the way into work.

I noticed that my ambers stay on with the lights only when the high beams and/or the fog lights are on.

Need to look at maybe a crossed wire this evening.  :p
