I have suddenly been overcome with the want to either have a Supercharged or Turbo Avy. I have read multiple posts on both this site and other forums about the subject. And I am somewhat leaning toward a turbo but not by much so a supercharger is not ruled out. Only problem is I have not seen many 02's that have taken on this project and I do not know it it's a lack of kits for this year or some other problems.

Any sort of advice or experience or suggestion would be a great help to me!

Plenty of 2002 did this... they are just way back in the beginning of this secton....

My 02 was supercharged and spraying nitrous when owned by the previous owner.  I've now got the supercharger on my 03, the nitrous kit went somewhere else before he sold the truck to me.  Both trucks are in the sig pic - at the time I didn't own the red 02 and it was blown and sprayed this 1/8th mile run and ran just under 9 seconds to my over 10 in the 03 with a cam and higher stall converter.

The supercharger is a Vortech centrifugal.  If you go down this route be prepared to do some tranny work in the future.

I'd suggest a TVS1900 rather than the MP112. They are capable of producing more boost and power and considerably lower IATs. I've been very happy with my MP112.

What kind of upgrades would need to be made to have it run efficiently?

Basically bolt it on and go. The Magnuson units are complete kits. I ran my MP112 like that for the first 2 years. Then I started down the slippery slope! If you wanted to get the most out of the kit as delivered you should add a CAI and low restriction exhaust.

So you practically could just use a bone stock engine and have no problems?

Yep, that's the nice thing about the Magnuson kits - bolt it on in a long day of installation and go. There are many people who run stock LS-series engines at 10 psi and even above with no issues (a good tune is imperative at higher boost levels). The as-delivered Magnuson kits are typically set up to deliver 6 psi from a stock engine.
