Just did a search on RS website....

These are the ones you want for the FTDRL/All-4-On-High.  (comes in pack of 10)

If you are planning on doing the All-4-On-Brake (separate MOD), then http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2062579 are the ones you will want (will need 6 of them).

thanks, that should help!!

the whole package!

are your led drl blue or white? also with the switchbacks and driving lights did you need to put in any resistores or anything so that they work/signal and dont blow out? also where di you order the led's from?

drl's are 8000k blue like the hid's the switchbacks vary by brand you have to try a few to match your color. and yes you have to splice in a resistor for them but its easy and they are cheap.

This is an excellent write up, thank you! (y)
It literally took me 10-15mins.

Hi, I have a few questions  :help:
- you have posted Fogs-On-Low ONLY: install diode 5 (see page 5 of this thread), i don't see it
- I'm not sure if this is the same as above (as i cant find it) but is there a way to do the following, if my fogs are on and i turn the hi-beams on, the fogs stay on, but if the fogs are off and i turn the hi-beams on, the fogs stay off
- just wondering, if you have diode #s 2 and 4, why do you need diode #3
- just wondering, what makes 02 and 07 different
Thanks  :B:

a few more things

- ok i found the post for the 5th diode on page 4 (not 5)
- if you use this 5th diode you can eliminate #1 cant you ?
thx again

Great mod for my '05....

Couldn't find small enough shrink tubing so went to Harbor Freight and got some marine shrink tubing.  It has a  special glue in it making it water proof.

Followed your very detailed (and well done) instructions and it works great.

One thing I'm kinda concerned with is here in the Great State of Texas we have yearly vehicle inspections and I'm wondering what the inspector is going to say when he hits the high beams...??  Looked thru the State inspection rules and it just states high beams in working order ???

Thanks,  (y)

Not sure on the laws in TX, but here in NJ, I had to put mine on a switch that I "hid" under the fuse box lid so I could turn off the All-4's before I go into inspection, and turn them back on after I pass.

The actually failed me because the fogs came on with the highs.

does this work for an 02 as well? if not can someone point me to the thread that shows the fogs on hi mod...ive look and looked and cant find it

I think you are OK. I've had this mod in place for several years now. Never a question about it.

Written to perfection!  Printed out the PDF, brought it out to the truck and did it all in about a half hour.  Put in Amber DRL's earlier today and did the All-On-High Mod this afternoon.  Easy to follow and loved having the pictures...

One comment I do have is that I had to go in and redo the diodes a few times because I couldn't figure out what was wrong.  I took off the relays, put the diodes in just like outlined, and it just didn't seem to work.  After thinking I was an idiot for a while, I looked closely and saw that the relays weren't put in correctly originally so when I put them back exactly like I pulled them out it wasn't working.  I had to flip them around so that the little number "85" on the prong matched up to the "85" on the box.  All 3 of the relays with only 4 prongs were in backwards.

I also didn't use the wrap around the diodes... hope that's not a big deal!

so i just got my 02 Z71, had it for a few days and decided I was gonna do the FTDLR. Much to my dismay, MY wife lost my socket wrench so i had to wait a day and buy a new one. Went over to the local harbor freight and picked up some Ambers and a new socket set. When i pulled the plugs out of the DRL housing, I found the bulbs were missing, poped in the new ones and was blinded by FTDLR.  Well long story short (and way to much leadup), I never did the FTDLR jump in the fuse box, or the grounded jumper under the hood... How is it that I have FTDLR that do no respond to the four click dome light switch, and are ALLWAYS ON?  ???

not that i mind, but I want to make sure there isnt anything wrong with my AV. I bought it used and have a 30 day warranty, but I really love it and dont want to give it back now!

Sounds to me like someone already did the Mod. You will have to open up the underhood fuse box and check to see if someone has already grounded out the wire.

i did open the fuse box, and the wires are still in the originally position. and i couldnt find any extra ground wires coming off the DRL pigtails... dont get me wrong, im not complaining, just wondering if there is any other way the FTDLR could have been applied

the heat shrink is to protect it from shorting out and causing major wiring damage or fire

Hmm... I just might have to go back in and put the heat shrink on! Didn't know if it was necessary since it's just "recommended".

well im not the one that wrote the original posting but ive done enough wiring to know what can happen

Has anybody ever had a problem with a short? Mine shorted while putting a new connector in and im no longer getting power from my prime( location on top of fuse panel where we draw our power from)

Did mine tonight along with the amber DRLs.  Works and looks great :)
Hopefully can post images soon...think I need to up my post count.
