2003 Cladding Fading?

Has anyone with an 03 noticed their cladding fade in color? I gave mine a bump a few weeks ago and sunk in the corner of the right back panel. The dealer just called me and said my replacement piece was in. I'm just hoping that my cladding hasn't faded and that this won't stick out like a sore thumb. I can't tell if mine has faded or not. I've had it for about 3 months.

Well I know the cladding color does differ from lot to lot....when I had my wreck and got a new bumper, it was MINUTELY a different color gray than the other pieces.

It doesn't bother me though because you don't notice unless you're just looking for flaws.

I know the same issue has been raised with replacement bed panels as well.

You can't always 'exactly' match the gray from each lot the cladding comes from.

As far as fading, being so new ('03 as opposed to an '02), I would doubt that would be an issue unless it's been in constant sunlight for long periods of time.

I don't think there will be too much of an issue either. I'm just hoping that its not obivous if it has faded. Thanks for your input.

I hope Steve picks it up. We need all of the DEI cars in the top 5.

Update: My dealer first off ordered the wrong part!!! How stupid can they be? Anyways, I did take the part they ordered which was for the side and compared the color to mine. It could have been the lighting but it looks like mine is lighter and may have faded.

So, it took a month to get that part in and he asks "Should I order you another? It'll probably take another month?" I said no, and I will be calling your manager later. I'm just going to wait to fixit until someone rearends me.
