Does anybody have the 2003 pricing yet? My dealer said to add about 2% to the 02's, but with the option packages changing, I'd like to be more precise.

There is no such thing as a 2003 Avalanche without cladding. A non-cladding option on the 2003 does not exist. I have the GM documents sent to me by an unnamed dealer. All 2003 Avalanche's will have dark charcoal cladding (much darker than the color today). There is no official word to the rumor that there will be a 2003-1/2 Avalanche that will have no cladding. I know what Vice-Chair Lutz said but the fact of the matter based on all information and photos from GM the case is the cladding is still on...

My dealer told me yesterday they won't have 2003 AV's until Sept. You might try checking with a dealer in TX, since they will the be 1st to have the AV's, not becuase it is closer to Mexico, but because those Texas boys just love their trucks :)

I would expect you won't see pricing until late July or early Aug.... since I am no expert, wait for the experts to weigh in :)

I read somewhere (most likely on here actually...) that the 2003 still has the cladding... it was a myth that it was going to be optional.

I could be wrong (it happens a lot) though...

.... and in the two minutes it took me to post, the answer came from the heavens! Thanks Chief :)

It is my understanding that 2003 will come with the darker cladding, but later in the year it will be switched to become an option. Still have not seen any pictures on AV without cladding

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah.

BUT, WHEN DO WE GET THE 2003 PRICING? :8:
I can't believe they would wait until a week before the line starts up.

A Rep told me at the NY City Car show that the Cladding was "Rumored" to become a delete option for 2003. Personally I have seen more on the Dark Cladding rather than a delete option.

For what it's worth, the same dealer who told me about the 2% increase said the cladding was eliminated and would be a $750 option on the 03's. FYI

I was on Edmunds.com checking out pricing for my soon to be AV
http://www.edmunds.com/new/2002/chevrolet/avalanche/index.html
and came across "Special Info from Chevrolet" on the page. If you click on it you get an ad with a picture of an AV with either "no" cladding or gloss black painted cladding. Looks great!... '03? mid '03?....

Also announced yesterday, 0% 60 mo financing on many GM models (AV?) or $3000-$4000 rebate on most GM models (AV?).

http://www.auto.com/industry/sales3_20020703.htm

I'm sure model details will follow soon on chevrolet's website.

Thought you guys may be interested....

UGH! ARGH! (Chief smashing head against desk) BWHAAAAAAAAA! (more acts of senseless violence).

PEOPLE - ALL TOGETHER NOW.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A CLADDINGLESS AVALANCHE IN 2003. PERIOD. END OF STORY. THE PICTURE THAT CHEVY IS CIRCULATING IS ON THIS SITE OF THE NEW 2003 AVALANCHE THAT HAS DARK CHARCOAL CLADDING (TRANSLATION - BLACK) IN THE NEW DARK CHARCOAL PAINT SCHEME. IN OTHER WORDS THE PAINT ABOVE MATCHES THE PLASTIC CLADDING BELOW.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A CLADDINGLESS AVALANCHE FOR 2003. FURTHER THE LINK YOU'VE PROVIDED, DESPITE SHOWING A 2003 AVALANCHE IS A POP-UP AD TO A 2002 AVALANCHE.

Here is the link with the REAL story:

Here is the specifications and the picture

Look - we have the information from the dealer order system straight from the dealer from a club member that works at a dealer and is in the know. We also have cross confirmation from another member that has already ordered a 2003 and has posted all of the information here including ALL option codes.

Painted cladding, no cladding, funky cladding, chrome plated cladding, neon light cladding, cladding on cladding, and any other option except WITH DARK CHARCOAL CLADDING is the one, the only, and the single option on the 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche.

[/rant]

It is also already listed on this site that the Avalanche has a $2,500 rebate or financing as low as 0.0%

Chief,

Didn't you just say that on page one of this topic? ;D ;)

avejoeamerican,

Thanks for the "info" anyway. Your intent is appreciated. An education by goo929 on searching the forums is inevitable, so be prepared to learn something or just play along with a smile ;D Welcome to the club and I hope you enjoy it as much as I have...the folks here are really great.

Thanks for the feedback. It definitely could be the new dark gray cladding with matching paint. If so, they sure shot that photo very carefully to "appear" as if the whole truck is black paint (i.e. Escalade).
Do I see some gloss paint on that rear bumper though? ;)
