2003 Standard & Options As Of 5/14/2002

Now this is an option list I can deal with. I'll be getting one once the cladding becomes an option. All those goodies, man I have to have something to play with.
Mods mods mods!!!!!
I love it!
I wonder what the cladless Avy's are going to look like?

I really wonder what they're going to look like too. From what I've seen, I really like an Av with the cladding painted, but I still can't imagine what it would really look like. Maybe cleaner, but less aggressive and tough looking. And, I'm guessing from the late availability that they're engineering new body panels to compensate for what taking the cladding off, mainly new front and rear fenders.

This too is clearly a Lutz plan. I think he has the right idea for most of GM's cars, and in a few years, they should really start to make a huge impact on the market.

Wonder who will be the first to get a "claddingless" Av???

I'm curious to see how much darker this new cladding is supposed to be when compared to the 02' cladding.....

I like the idea of the dual climate, and some other options that are being introduced...their will be some happy folks out there...especially the one's that have been holding on by the seat of their pants waiting for the new 03'...... :B:

Ordered mine in the new grey color, Hope it does not clash with the cladding.

I hate to say it, but I wish I would have waited.
I like the dual climate, rear audio controls, steering audio ctrls, Bose system. But why won't Chevy put the 6.0 in the Z-71. I hate only having two engine choices and having to get the 2500 to get the larger engine.
I might be looking at a trade in come this fall. :B:

I think the Bose audio is over-rated. Your money is better spent on aftermarket equipment if sound quality is what you are after. I have to admit the 6 liter would have been nice, but it is just not to be with the Avs yet. I would go for the steering wheel controls. As far rear seat climate and audio controls, well, no one that sits back there is making any of the payments so I get to decide what station is on and how loud it is. If they're cold the can put on a sweater. I think us 2002 owners were able to get some sweet deals. They may not be as good for the 2003's.

LOL...I liked that one, "I pay the bills...so freeze!!... ;D

Hey Chevy_Nut,

You mentioned that you have the Bose 8 speaker system in your Trailblazer LTZ... What is the quality like? Is there a sub?

Also the new dual electronic climate control... do you think it works any better or worse then the climate control in the current AVs?

Thanks in advance for any info,

SteelHeadChaser, not bad, LOL, good thing your not a bus driver ;D

But I do drive a 40' long Fire truck. I don't control the radio but I do control the heater!

The only feature I feel cheated on is the trip computer thing. That should really have been on this truck. I can live without the other stuff, but that I even asked my salesperson about why it was omitted.

That's OK, maybe my truck will get moldy so I can sue. Then I'll have enough money to pay someone like our resident electrical genuises Xrover and Jackalanche to come over and wire me in a computer and sail-mounted lighting..... Maybe even drive down to visit Gandolph to have him set me up with a Whipple and some methane injection. Oh yeah.

I'll take "Whatever" for $200 please Alex!

Interestingly enough, my dealer called me this morning with some news about our inquire into the 2003 models. He wanted me to stop by and check the new features out. >:D

I have mixed feelings about the new features since I was hoping to get one of the Indy 500 2002 Z71 (Pewter). The good news is that if GM is true to itself, we should see the new trucks rolling about in early August as part of the track vehicle contingency for the Brickyard 400 Winston Cup Race. Last year we got between 40-50 Victory Red AVs about 3 weeks prior to the official launch of these vehicles. I am hoping for the same thing to happen for this year's race.

Regardless, I have my work cut our for me... HMMM dual AC and Sound controls plus a DVD system or a similar configuration as with our 2002 2500 AV. Hmmm a dual AV home - probably not... but it is nice to dream about it... ;D

Thank you Tony M for all the GREAT info! It is greatly appreciated.

Take care everyone and Happy AVing!

A big minus for me is the convenience package you have to get with the sunroof... I MUST HAVE a sunroof, but don't want the extra $650 convenience package that'll just get in my way and never be used. Maybe I'll go for a 02.
