I have searched this forum and others and can't seem to find a diagram or a detailed how to. So I recently replaced my factory head unit with a Boss HU from Crutchfield. I also got it with the PAC interface prewired. So what is happening is when I turn up the volume I start getting a popping-clipping sound. I contacted Crutchfield thinking that I might need speakers and they said the issue is the Bose Amp and that I will need to bypass it. I asked if they sold one but they said to look for info online on how to do create one before purchasing new speakers.
So today I come to everyone on this forum to see if they have a diagram of which wire goes where.

Try this forum guide

Also, search on youtube. There are several guides on bypassing the bose amps in this generation of truck. Try searches like 'bose amp bypass tahoe' and 'bose amp bypass suburban' , 'bose amp bypass escalade' etc.

Thanks. I saw that post also. I just wasn't sure what year truck he was working on. But after reading it in more detail he mentioned that that the connection he made was from under the cup holder. So this made me believe that it should work on my 2004. Guess I'll be pulling out the cupholders.

Cool, good luck Boogie. There are likely guys on the forum that have experience with this, they may chime in later too. As far as mods go, bypassing that Bose amp was fairly common so you should have luck finding good documentation.

This is what i uses to bypass mine and it worked great. No splicing cutting or anything.

Thanks. I wish I would have searched for that hiding connection before installing the new radio. Did you lose anything by using that connection?

I made the console into a sub box. So i was going to delete everything in there anyway. The bose amp was one of them. Other than that good to go.

Also keep in mind that this will also disable the rear seat controls and door/key chime. It is just a direct connection to the speakers. I have a small amp in the dash connected to that connector.

Did you just leave the connector that goes to the Bose loose or did you plug it were the bypass connector was.
Thanks

I left it unplugged. I also unplugged all the connectors to the amp and rear radio controls just so there would be no parasitic loss anywhere.

Thanks. I'm going to give it a go later this week. I will keep everyone posted.
