I bought the 899 bulb to replace the fogs but the 899's don't fit. No only is the connection fitting different, the 899 was "L" shaped where my fogs were straight.

The stock bulb was a 9145 Sylvania. What can I replace it with?

I had an '03 WBH Z71 before I got my '04 2500, and I had replaced the fogs in the WBH with the Silverstar bulbs for either the high or low beam headlights. They were either the 9005 or 9006, but now it slips my mind which they were. But I remember that they sure worked great!

The 9005 can replace the OEM 9145 bulbs used for the fogs on a WBH. I am temporarily using the OEM high beams while waiting for my SilverStars. Before with the 9145s, I could use them at night with no complaints. I have noticed that folks seems to take offense since I switched to the 9005--a higher watt bulb. Wait until I get the SilverStars. ;D

The 9005's don't get too hot to melt the housing?
