Greetings,

Would some of you be willing to share what you paid for your 2004 Z71 in the MD, DC, VA area?
I am in the market for one and have found what I want.
The list on the Z71 is 41,350 and I have got them down to 34,000 is this a good price or should I beat them up some more? :E:

Thank You for you help!

Don't forget the "GM in the Driveway" Coupon. I used one and it cut the price deep right from the get go. Gives you the "Supplier Price" then all the rest of the incentives roll off from there.

Search for "GM in the Driveway" thread there are a ton of discussions about it and what it does for the pricing.

Is that before or after rebates. Either way it's a good deal. I used the GM in the Driveway deal and after rebate, before tax, that's about what I got, however if they'll take a bigger beating, the by all means, BEAT!

Bought mine in November, sticker price of 41,565. GM was giving $3500 rebate, GM boosted my GM gold card rebate balance up to $2,000, and the dealer chipped in for another $5500. So between GMC and the dealer I got $11,000 off.

I'm not in your area, but I'm still pretty excited so I'm posting anyway. Last night I bought an 04 z71 loaded with nearly everything except leather and cladding. Sticker was $40,000 exactly. Got a total of $10,400 off including $3500 factory rebate, rest was dealer discount and 2 $500 coupons that they gave us. So I paid under $30,000, almost what the base model 4x4s are selling for. In fact, I was going to order one at another dealer, and they wanted $32000 for a base 4x4 with nothing except a sunroof. Glad I shopped around!
I qualify for GM supplier, but I would have lost some of the dealer discount and only got the rebate, so I would have paid almost $32k if I had used the GMS.

04ArrivalBlueZ71, how did you get GM to raise their limit on GM credit points? I am ording my 04 now, I am getting 1% over dealer invoice so I think that is about as good as I can get. I have $3,200 worth of GM points but their web site is saying I can only take off $1500. Thanks, Jeff

You should be able to go BELOW invoice with no problem, especially on a vehicle you are ordering from the factory. The dealer will be keeping all the holdback as profit (3% for Chevrolet, if memory serves).

Good Luck,
C

I bought my '04 Z71 Oct 31st,2003...they say the end of any month is a good time to buy but the best thing I found out was internet shopping. My dealer here in Jacksonville,FL (Coggin) has internet sales people. They are salaried employees and do not make commision. (so they say) They showed me the invoice and then took off the rebates. Now, who knows if it was the "real" invoice but my internet salesguy could pull up the invoices for all GM dealerships and actually showed me the invoice of another dealers' AV and it was $1000 less than the other dealer was telling me was "invoice price". In the end my truck is fully loaded except for a DVD player and no cladding (although it has a two tone $995 paint job)...sticker was $42,220.00 and with a $3K rebate I paid $34697.03 plus tax ($1286) tag ($90) and a "dealer fee" ($395)....

Thanks for the info, I am presently dealing with 2 dealers so the info on ordering vehicles at below invoice may be helpful. Actually, I thought it was the exact opposite. I thought dealers with cars/trucks on the lot for more than 60-90 days were offered a factory incentive rebate to help off-set their loss for finacing a vehicle for so long without selling it. There is a vehicle on the lot that I am somewhat interested in but I can just as easy wait for a couple months before I take delivery. Will be interesting to see what vehicle (pre-ordered or on sitting on the lot) that they are more willing to make a better deal on. Will let you know. In the mean time, anybody know how to get extra money off the GM Gold Card rebate than they are offering right now: $1500. I have $3200 in rebates that are ready to be spent. Thanks Jeff

04JTW, The GM card points is only 1500 unless you receive a speacial offer from them ( I received mine in Oct and they extended it until Jan. 2nd). The offer rounded my GM points of to the next thousand ( for me it was 2000) so this was another 600 incentive for me.
Now unfortunatly I didn't even look at the Avalanche until Jan. 5th. So I didn't get to use mine... I was looking at the 1500 GMC sierra for a couple weeks and just didn't fall in love. Then I drove the Avy and it was over.
I ended up paying 30,600 ( list was 40,128.00) after all rebates 100 over invoice and my 1364 in GM points.

Tom

P.S. My dealer just got in a Dark grey WBH with the safe and sound package... very nice. ( I like my sport red better though).

I belong to navy federal credit union and Pohanka Chevy in Chantilly, VA has a preferred pricing deal with NFCU on avalances...$250 under invoice, no processing fees. I haven't been out there yet but the POC I've dealt with is Dan Coggin.

Smitty, That is a great price. I paid 32,468. I did get a GM employee discount. It is an '04 Z71 WBH. Fully loaded except rear entertainment system.

I used my GM Card for $3000 off but then I have the OLD GM Card which was much better! It only had a $3500 off limit which you could get by getting a maximum of 500 GM Card Points per year for 7 years. I'm glad I never switched to that other plan with the spending limits on each vehicle!

Hmm, I'll have to give GM Gold a call because I too have the old card. That would save a bunch of money. Will let you know what they say.

Thanks for the tip Contour, I just gave Dan a call and he said he would give me the same price break. Will let you know how it comes out. Jeff

Hey Contour. I work in Fleet Sales at a Chevy dealership down in SoCal, so I'm not sure if the rebates are the same over there, but GM is offering a Military Purchase Program that gives you an extra $750 from GM. Make sure they're giving you that money! ;D

mine was $41,595. I got it for $35k even including tax tag and assorted dealer ripoff fees.

Just got off the phone with Chevy, they confirmed they will sell it to me for $250 below invoice. With $3500 rebate, $750 military rebate, $3,100 GM Gold rebate, that's over $7,500 below invoice!!! I don't think I can do any better than that, plus VA only charges 3% sales tax. Bottom line is that the MSRP is $42,750 and I am walking out the door with tax, title and tags for $31,600. Yahoo, can't wait to pick her up. Thanks for all the help, you all literally saved me thousands of dollars. Jeff

Just bought the vehicle over the phone, site unseen, from Koon's Chevrolet. They offered $650 under dealers invoice. The vehicle lists for MSRP $42,175 ($37, 677 invoice) but with all the rebates and GM Gold Card points, I only paid $31,131 out the door, including tax, tag, and license. ;) I don't think I will ever get such a great deal on any other vehicle. Before taxes, it was $8k under dealers invoice!! Thanks for everyones help. Jeff

Which Koons Chevy in DC Area ? I'm looking for a good deal on an Av, thanks

Contour, I am buying mine from Koon's Chevrolet at Tyson Corner. Through 2 Feb, they are offering $500 under dealer's invoice. If you go to this site, http://www.koons.com/frameset2.asp?LINK=NewCars&MAIN=new_vehicle_search, it lists their in stock AV's. A pop up window will come up offering you the "internet" discount of $500 off dealer's invoice, but the coupon is not necessary. Just call them up and mentioned that you heard about their sale. As I mentioned above, I haggled them down to $650 below invoice. That also includes the $850 destination charge, I think they charge $150 processing though. They are obviously getting some type of dealers rebate so you might be able to talk them even lower. Plus you get all the other Rebates, i.e. the $3500 off. Good luck, let us know what you decide to do. Jeff Walker :D
