Hello,

I am having a small issue with my instrument panel lights. They work but it seems some are not working, the needles are bright but at night I can’t see the speedo and other gauges. Just looks like half of them are out.
The dimmer switch works but it’s just very dim on high.
I decided to replace the bulbs, and here is where I am confused...I did online searches and they seem to say the push in bulbs as well as the solder in led bulbs will work with my AVa.
Both bulbs can not work for the same think, I imagine.
I would like to know which bulbs my truck takes so I can have them before I take my dash and instrument cluster apart.

Has anyone replaced these in a 2005? If so could you tell me which lights I need to buy please.
Thank you

the pic in the link does not do the the actual lighting justice..it gives it way too much light LOL

I believe they are lights soldered to electric board so not so easy to replace.

Your pic looks to show an aftermarket gage cluster as the background is white...

only the Northface edition had white backed cluster.

I had that problem a few years ago with my radio and climate control. after seeing the prices for remanufactured I opted for just ordering LED's and Resistors. Yes the factory lights are soldered to the board, just heat the solder up and get a solder sucker to glean them up and pull the old bulbs out. then solder in the LED with the resistor (if needed) in place. I did up the climate control button by color to make it easier for me at night (green for outside air, blue for AC, and red for heat and orange for the rear window defrost) for the radio I used Cool bluish/white so the buttons were not so bright.

It takes an hour or so, mainly figuring out the current flow and which way to solder the LED's / resistors in, but after that it gets easy.

Thanks for the reply’s.

I just got confused when googling and two different light bulbs came up and none for an actual part number.
Even when googling 2005 north face instrument cluster bulbs is shows push and solder bulbs..

I will get some led bulbs and have em ready when I replace the radio I will do them all at once.

I have no issues with soldering.
I appreciate the clarification 👊🏻
