My 2007 Avalanche loses all saved GPS nav locations immediately after turning off the ignition key. It also defaults the map location to the White House (Penn Av in DC!) on the map, so the GPS appears to be doing a cold start every time, but if off for just a couple of minutes, it sometimes retains the current location. Also, it the clock defaults to Eastern Standard Time on every startup.
I asked the dealer if there is a backup battery in the radio (or GPS module), and they claim that there is no such backup battery.
Does anyone know anything about this, or had the same problem? The nav still works (with the old 2013 data DVD), but forgets everything if I turn the key off!
Any info would be greatly appreciated!
