2007 brake upgrade

Looking at getting upgraded brakes for my 2007 avalanche and am seeking advice. Calipers seem to be working fine (Original to the truck) but need new rotors and pads...are oem calipers good enough or should I find a kit with the rotors, pads and calipers? Was looking at Powerstop and am having problems finding the front and rear kits with the calipers for a descent price. I know...you get what you pay for, but not looking at spending a ton. Also, I don't really tow but I have put heavy loads in the back for home construction projects...is it best to get the tow package for Powerstop (Z36) or the normal street kit (Z23)? I could see myself towing in the future and don't really want to be limited but am not sure of which one I'd get the most benefit from? Thanks for the help.
 
The 2007 got the dual piston calipers right? I’d stick with those. The 1st gen (2002-2006) had single piston calipers smaller rotors and calipers, more than a few have upgraded to the 2nd gen dual pistons because they are a direct bolt on. But if you already have the larger caliper setup I’d personally leave it.

Have you checked Rock Auto? I've seen Power Stop packages there and have thought about for our '03 (got 16 inch winter wheels/tires so upgrade to GMT900 isn't practical)

Fronts are dual piston on all
Normal rear end have single piston
Locker rear end have dual piston rears and different size rotors.
 
Thanks for the information. Are the Powerstop calipers any better than OEM? My OEM calipers seem to be performing as they should so if the Powerstop ones aren't any better than I was just thinking about getting their rotors and pads and using my calipers.
 
only way they could be better is if they had larger pistons to provide more pad force but sometimes this is bad if not designed correctly as the pad can lock up the rotor then... and your ABS kicks in...

I cannot see why to change rotor as you have the largest that will fit....

TO be honest just find great pads....and you may get a little better braking...

But before you do this... I suggest doing a few 50 to 0 mph stops and measuring the distance.
Find average as you are now....

Then change pads and see if it improves...
