Hello, I'm new on here and I'm sure it's been discussed because of its importance but I've looked and couldnt find it... this scared the crap out of me because of the severity that could have happened. Driving through town two days ago my truck just shut down.. steering locked and I went over the medium until the truck stopped. I put it in park, turned off the key, then proceeded to start it. It started right up and went to work. Second time this has happened but the first time I was on private property driving with no seatbelt and it died. Figured it was that. Has anyone pinpointed this issue??? I need this fixed but need to know what to fix or I'm selling this truck before something serious happens. Doesnt General Motors know about this??? any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Any check engine codes?
Fuel pressure?
Check battery cables/battery?

What all has been checked?

Have you brought it to dealership or mechanic?

Did the steering lock up or was it suddenly very hard to turn (loss of power steering)? I think this is a clue if the steering wheel actually locks.

Did the radio keep playing and dash lights stay on during the event, or was electrical power lost momentarily when the truck died? But YGMN is on the right track with checking/ruling-out fuel pressure, power and ground.

I agree with above posters and would suggest you have it towed to a trustworthy shop with all the diagnostic equipment to locate your problem.
No sense risking your life, that or your family or someone else's life. I can't see getting rid of the AV though until you find the problem since it may be an easy and cheap fix once found.

Only code it's throwing is for the cats I removed and park assist.

Steering did not lock up. All dash went out,

This Avy has had this issue through 2 engines so I'm ruling definitely electrical. Anyone that has had this issue and has found a fix or has solid info would be greatly appreciated. It's been sitting for months now.
