Thank you.....you are a gentlemen and a scholar....and there's damn very few of us left!

Ah....I now see it on Page 5 of this thread.  I hadn't looked that far back.  Thanks (y)

Heard a news story yesterday that should help with travel. The CEO of Exxon/Mobil said he expects $1 or less a gallon gas this summer.

That's the national average. For those of us where prices are usually below the average, we could see high 80's and low 90 cent pump prices.  (y)

Actually I've heard something similar.  Our news stations are saying that the AAA experts are saying we could be paying less than $1.00 by the beginning of the year.  I hope their right and it continues into the summer.  Then my biggest worry will have to be paying for my room...

Well.....there is good news, bad and badder news with the price of oil today.

Good news:  Gas is cheaper

Bad news:  No longer economically viable to explore and drill at $40/barrel

Badder news: When the Middle East cuts us off again (and they will), we'll scramble again with $4+/gal gas and everyone will be playing the grab-a$$ game and rethoric to "diversify" our energy policy.

Around here in the North Texas area, several oil companies have been drilling everywhere.  I even have a contract to drill under my house in my neighborhood.  But, with oil at $40/barrel right now, they have almost stopped all activity.

Meanwhile....store up your $1/gal gas so everyone can come to the Nationals this year.  Pick a piece of that fine Texas real estate, stay awhile, Texas will eventually secede from the US and you can join in that control 75% of the oil refining capacity.

btw....we use Prius' for door stops in Texas

Wow... good thing gas has come down, between my 16 miles per gallon AV and my 13 miles per gallon JEEP... I am sunk if they go back up again.

I am SO looking forward to seeing everyone next year!!!! When we traveled last year to Pigeon Forge, gas stayed in the area of $4 per gallon, which ran about 700.00 for gas last year!

I would really like to see the price of gas to NOT be a deal-breaker for anyone this year.  It was a bummer that we lost so many folks due to rising prices.  Maybe we can gain a few due to lowering prices

I filled up yesterday for $1.48 at a local Walmart :)

I don't see any reason at the moment why I wouldn't be able to make it for this... Add me plus my Jeep.  :D
