Looks great but you might want to change the design of your air box into a much simpler design. It will change the sound of your intake and is more likely to do some good for you.
In a Camaro they build an air box directly on the front of the throttle body and house a K&N type filter inside that box. You can prevent water from being drawn in by having a cone shaped air filter inside a sizable box. I don't believe the SLP vehicles have any sort of water removal system on theirs. This air box I believe mounts to the top of the radiator mount. In our trucks you would likely modify the shroud on top of the radiator to mount this air box. The actual air hose running to the TB is a flexible hose with the MAF sensor in it to allow for engine movement.
The box is solidly mounted in the engine compartment and has a foam rubber type gasket that mates it to the hood.
You will find this straight in shot much easier to deal with and you will have far fewer air leaks. Not to mention the performance gain should be easily measurable at higher speeds.
I have been stopping customers who drive in with factory hood scoops so I can get a visual of what to build or buy. Every single one so far is a fake! and I've asked a lot.
It looks like the SLP hoods were built for 2000-2002 Firebirds and camaros.
Here are a couple of links for you to get an idea. Remember that our 5.3 and 6.0 engined are derived from LS1's so they should match up directly.. This would look so cool and look factory in the process if you used one of these and could modify it to fit:
Also I believe there was a factory ram air setup as an option as well.

It is not exactly as I imagined but you get the idea.. This uses a standard sized filter.
It's an older pic but I still have the scoop on my rig. There are 2 other Forest Green cladded in the Tacoma area but you always know which one is mine.
