2010 Worldwide GTG - Region II - July 23-25, 2010

Just registered our event!  Keep in mind we just moved back here to Pensacola 2 weeks ago today (our household goods are still in Indianapolis!) hence the late planning.  BUT....Better late than never -- and if no one wants to join us, my family will webcast some of what ya'll are missing!

Hope some folks can meet us and I also hope to tag LOTS of AV's after we get our printer (supposedly Thursday).

Chevy Avalanche Fan Club WWGTG Okaloosa Island

Saturday, July 24th

Meet, Lunch, and Beach (or fish?or whatever!)

10 am - Meet at Boardwalk parking lot, quick mods? http://www.theboardwalkoi.com/

11 am ? lunch at Crab trap http://www.crabtrapontheisland.com/fwb/Story.htm

1 pm ? beach, fishing pier, or mods if nice weather, or hang out at tables under cover if rain?

The Crab Trap has PLENTY of room for us if this goes my way and we get some more members attending!  Sandwiches are affordable?and they have THE best hush puppies.  They themselves don?t have WiFi, but we were able to get onto the internet from the parking lot, and the Crab Trap and beach are both closer than the lot, so we should be able to do a quick broadcast from any of those places.

The beach is beautiful and the water is still clean there.  There are free showers, playground, equipment rental, kites for sale, ice cream, snacks, etc.  The fishing pier does cost money for those interested, but no fishing license is required http://www.okaloosaislandpier.com/.  Should it rain, there are several covered areas with tables at the Boardwalk or if anyone wants to go the Gulfarium, the shows and exhibits are covered.

For more fun or to stay the night (at beach vacation prices, mind you):

NOTE:  This Tentative Schedule is Family Friendly (and still open to suggestions).  If we get several members attending, I can make more formal plans (mods? charter a short boat tour? whatever you want!).  There are campgrounds near and most hotels in the area had availabilities (probably the prices - ouch!!).  The way I have it set up now, the only thing that costs money is lunch (and gas for the beasts).

For those that do not know, that stretch of HWY 98 can move slow (the speed limit is mostly 45 and there are lots of visitors this time of year), but I don?t think it?s an unpleasant drive?it is scenic at times and much better than D.C. traffic (that?s the worst, so everywhere I drive is compared to that).

HOPE YOU CAN ATTEND!!!!  :B:
