Installed this hitch receiver a couple weeks ago.  Great set-up, many times more stout than factory.

Since then however, I've been having sporadic issues with my back-up sensors.  Anyone else have this sort of problem?  The position of the hitch isn't that much different than before.  It sticks out MAYBE 1" further and sits a little bit higher.  But it's all very, very close to factory location.

Is it the hitch, or did I possibly knock something out of alignment?

Hi DP425,

What did you use for the 1/2 spacers needed?  What did you trim the bumper cover with?  I'm looking at buying the same receiver soon.  Any resolution to the sensor issue?

I know if I have my WD head sitting in the receiver, my backup warnings go off.  Are you getting the warnings with an empty receiver?

Sorry for the delay!

I used a Dremel to trim the cover, I can get a picture that might show better how much I had to trim.

No resolution on the sensor issue and yes, it is with an empty receiver.  I'm having a real hard time believing its the receiver.

I just did this install and the 41930 works out great. I have an LTZ and did not need to trim the rear bumper cover. That said, the hitch does touch the rear bumper cover but not enough to warrant trimming. I used the included spacers for the front mounts. I would say the gap between the front mounting point and frame rail is slightly more than 1/4" but certainly not half inch. After snugging up the rear two bolts, I could not squeeze two of the spacers between the front mount and frame rail.  I just snugged up the front bolts and everything mated well.

I picked up a Hopkins connector and installed that it the rear bumper.

No issues with rear parking sensors.

Also completed this mod on my 2013 LT Z71 = awesome.  I did not need to trim the bumper cover either, although the hitch does press up on and flexes the plastic a tiny bit (not even noticeable if you hadn't done the install yourself!).  I did use the front spacers as specified, and everything snugged up and aligned perfect.  Also picked up a Hopkins wiring connector for the bumper install -- good advice on the forum about a quality 2" bi-metal hole saw -- worked out well.  The Hopkins that I got from the auto parts store did not have bolts included, so I did have to make a home improvement store run to get hex bolts/nuts for the Hopkins.  Also, there was forum advice about making sure the wiring connector was plug-n-play vice universal -- this was good advice as well -- if you didn't know specifically what you were looking for, you could end up having to splice and solder vice simply plug in.

Back up sensors not affected at all.

Interesting.  I deff had a 1/2" gap when I (properly) installed mine.  I guess maybe there can be slight variations.  Either way, the hitch is clearly much better quality.

Parking sensors don't seem to be causing me problems anymore.  I'm wondering if it could have had something to do with the shiny surface of the hitch; it was more problematic in bright light.  Now that it's getting weathered, it's not causing so many problems.

Hey, I just ordered the Draw Tite 41930 from eTrailer.  Did some digging for spacers because I don't wanna have to make anything and I found this part: https://www.etrailer.com/p-1080-012.html  It's a 7/16" spacer from Draw Tite.  They're cheap, 7/16" should be close enough, and enlarging the hole shouldn't be too difficult either, if I have to.

Parts should arrive next week.  I'll post up how it goes.

Hitch receiver arrived.  Checked the holes in the spacers. Receiver mounting bolts go right through them.  Good.  Now to find time to install.

I've got the receiver, and a Hopkins plug to go in the bumper.  Also Have air bags to go in the springs.  Hope my lift won't cause a problem there.  Almost no info about using those with taller springs anywhere.

how did your air bags go in with your lift? I did a 3.5" rough country lift and have yet to put the air bags in and I wanted to see if it worked out for you and how you might have done it with the spacer at the top of the coil spring

Since he hasn't been on website since March 14, 2019 you may not get a reply from him.

Just finished the Draw-Tite 41930 install this weekend - and yes, this thing certainly is an upgrade over stock!

Driven the truck 4-5 times since install - and I am also getting the interference with the parking sensors. It may beep a couple of times if I put it in Reverse right after start-up ... but it will just disable itself and broadcast that message on the dash, and illuminate the button below the HVAC controls. Daytime or night - same results for me over a couple days of driving.

Anyone else experiencing this, and / or anyone who did have a resolution to the problem ?!?
