Putting a second battery in my EXT and trying to use a diode type isolator. When I connect the vehicle battery to the Batt connection on the isolator and the second battery to other bat connection then with the Alternator B+ to the input of the isolator the alternator will not work as it has to have some voltage to energize it. When I connect it as shown in my diagram (I'm not an artist) it can also discharge vehicle battery the when there is a load on the accessory battery. Anyone have an answer to how it can be connected? batt isolator.jpg

Many threads about adding a second battery have been posted over the years, many with photos and info. Most popular kit seems to be the Painless second battery kit. I'm sure other options and ideas are in those threads as well.
Since you have been a member since 2007 you may have seen some of those older threads fro info and ideas...

:)

Good luck!
