Actually, I think you're thinking of The Comet that was at Crystal Beach, in Canada. When Crystal Beach closed up, The Comet was moved to Lake George, and is now at The Great Escape theme park.

If you love roller coasters, you'll probably be disappointed by the roller coaster offerings at Fantasy Island.
For the roller coaster aficionado, Darien Lake Amusement Park might be a better fit. It's a little more than a half hour drive from the host hotel, taking mostly Interstate highways. While not a huge park, it's bigger than Fantasy Island, and has half a dozen coasters.
The attached images of the parks are roughly the same scale, you can see that Darien Lake is bigger than Fantasy Island. But neither of them are large world-class parks.
