Glad you could make it.

Wow what a great time we are eating breakfast at Frisch's now with the group I will be home shortly and will post a lot of pictures promise!

I thanked a LOT of people who helped make this a great National Event at our group dinner on Saturday evening but I want to do it here for the members who could not attend. And there was a lot of help, believe me I could not have pulled this off by myself!

First there was Didit & Lu, Didit was the Charity Coordinator and procured most of the items that were raffled off for The Madison Salvation Army, this years charity. He also led the "Stock The Pantry" food challenge and the food drive. He headed up the group that made a few trips to the food pantry to deliver those items and got Lt. Matt to our group dinner so he could present to money raised to him. Mike has the exact total posted but I know it was over $1300 and over 500 pounds of food! GREAT JOB GUYS.

Lu was in charge of registering members and passing out the "goodie bags" She was also Didit's main helper. Great job Lu!

Then I want to thank jomomma and Toots for the craft sale. They made a lot of the crafts themselves and sold them for charity. One of Intimidatoruag's daughters made and donated a few friendship bracelets to the cause and they were sold before she walked away! THANKS! I think they raised $75 from the sale, sound correct girls?  Thanks, well done!

Next I want to thanks enoniam & his wife. Greg led the group and set up the Dyno pulls. He also set up and headed the off roading adventure, it looked like a lot of fun! They also set up a GTG at a Drive-in Theater but I am not sure that anyone attended as most were wore out from the days activities by the time that dark rolled around......  Enoniam's wife set up the poker game that was held for charity and I never played but sat there and learned a few things, mainly not to play cards with those guys....JK!! THANKS GUYS!

Then we have CntrySnger72 and Lafsalot. They set up and lead a cruise to the Louisville Mega Cavern where the group took a tram tour through the cavern. I enjoyed it and learned that Kentucky Bourbon IS good for you!
Later that same day they led the Indiana Wine Trail Tour. We did not go but those who did had a great time and made several stops and tastings. THANKS GUYS!

Next new member frito stepped up and set up a tour of the Ohio Movie Theater in Madison. The theater was built and has been operating in Madison since 1933 and has some real history to it. They are going through some tough times because they, like all theaters are required to convert to a digital format soon and that is very expensive. Hope they find the funds to continue on! THANKS FRITO!

I  want to thank the members who took the time to attend and make this a great National Event. We had members from as far as 1870 mile away! The next time someone says "boy I wish that Nationals were closer to us" point them back to this page  (y) There  were a total of 3 families from Canada + there were 11 states represented!

I hope Didit sees this thread  and posts the final number in pounds of food & $$$ donated here.

Lu if you would post the total registered number also.

If I missed someone please know that it is not intentional I am wore out and need a nap! If I think of more helpers I will add them to this thread and don't be shy about letting me know that I forgot you!

HOPE THAT EVERYONE HAD A GREAT TIME!

I am still promising to post my pictures later and THANKS AGAIN!

Thanks Didit and Z66Butch and the helpers for  putting this on.  (y)

PS I found out why the Service engine soon light came on, I didn't notice my Engine Oil Pressure pegged at 80 PSI when first started then drops to 0 with no warning in the display, Codes or chimes. Off to get sensor monday

Thanks Z66 Butch for being a great master event coordinator, to DIDIT for the efforts to help out a great charity and all the others who help out and showed up.  I'd also like to thank all of you who helped me with troubleshooting items.  I lost count who and how many helped troubleshoot my door issue and leaking bed panels.  Thanks to cntrysngr72 for the RR.  My daughter is insistent we buy some.    Thanks also to krazycarguy for taking the Bumblebee for a test drive and checking things out.  Thanks also to didit and ms03 2500 for showing me the fix for saggign bed panel.

This was our first GTG and I have to say, which you already know, what a great group of people.  Thanks for welcoming us.  I enjoyed meeting and chatting with all of you and seeing some very cool Avys.  My daughter who was a little skeptical going had a blast.  She wants me to get to work and said that she gives full preauthorization to do anything to the Bumblebee that dluvr22 has done to Avalanche Prime.  Of course, I'm sure my wife/family treasurer might not give the same carte blanch approval.

We make it home a couple hours ago.

Thanks Butch, Didit, jomomma, Lu and everyone else who had a hand in making this years Nationals a success.

Now it's time to start planning Holiday Dinner 8!!!  =)

Just like to say thanks to everyone Sharon and myself had a blast, meet lots new friends. 66butch and didit  you did a great job . This was our first GTG and it will not be our last even though we drove 1870 miles to get there, Thanks again to everyone you made us so welcome even though we came from Canada and are Brits lol

Final report on the food pantry drive, we raised 514 pounds/562 items for the food pantry!  AWESOME guys, thank you so very much, all of  you that contributed.

On the raffle, the craft auction, live auctions, t-shirt sales, AV books, we raised $1420.00 for the Salvation Army Childrens Services!  again  AWESOME Guys and Ladies, job well done!

We were able to present Lt Matthew Phelps with a Black Diamond AV coffee table book, signed by all in attendance.

I can't begin to tell you how proud I am of all those that made this work.

Didit

Made it to West Ellis,WI and picked up that bumper for the Audi.
5 more hours to get home. Final fill up done in West Eliis so I'm making this leg a straight hop home.

Just passed an unlucky soul getting pulled over in the state where you have to pay your fine for the ticket to the officer before leaving the scene or risk getting hauled off to the sheriff's office. It's the speed limit for me from here on out

It was so great to meet so many new people!  I forgot just how fun GTG's can be!!  I know that Staci and I sure enjoyed it, and loved how everyone took to Baby C (Catherine)!!!  She had a great time as well...I know so because she slept the entire trip back, waking up just after we had arrived in Jasper, just a few miles from the house.   (y)

Thank you to all those who helped with my last minute mods, and especially the crew who got my Ambers in (after the fiasco of the light popping off in the hole!  :E: )  Seriously, though, it was a great time, and I can't express how grateful I am for this group, and those so eager and willing to help.  I look forward to the next one!  Yes, BigC, I saw the Holiday Dinner plug...its still a 'we'll see' at this point though. ;)

Peace all!

CS, Lafsalot and Baby C!

Haven't made it home yet, stopped for the night just east of Cleveland, just in time to see a funnel cloud float over the hotel ; but just wanted to say thank you to Butch for all his hard work for putting together this Nationals, and also to Mike for his work and for helping to raise that awesome amount for the Salvation Army. It was great seeing a lot of friends and meeting new people. Tim definitely did live up to his screen name when he tore up that hill and made it to the top when the two LIFTED AVs could not :notworthy: (y). And thanks to Elliot and his Awesome AV for blocking traffic, helping to keep the group together going to dinner (y). Thanks to Mike for leading the cruise and the tour to the Slugger factory, and thanks to Greg for leading the three brave adventurers into the unknown of KY's backwoods (man that was some hardcore stuff). Hope to see everyone again.

I finally made it home after having to turn around at one point due to the road being too flooded for the corvette, nearly had to do it a second time, and then running into a road detour on my already detoured route.  At one point was following a snow plow that was out clearing the roads of debris from the flooding following the heavy rains around Madison last night and this morning.

There was a bit of moisture out there alright, I was watching the radar on my phone and waited at a rest stop in Lima OH because there was a big storm just north.

I just told every that it was a free carwash after the event! Glad that you all had a great time and we will do it again sometime!

Wish I coulda made the drive... It was just a little far, I'll hit one one day  (y) glad everyone had a good time

Mark24v won the iron butt, He drove 1870 miles or something like that. One way!!!

We made it home around 7:30 this evening. We made a few stops. I even ran by an o'rileys before Carrollton and picked up one of the 5 function fire and ice bars that Mark24V was talking about this morning! We ran through heavy rain all the way through Lexington but once we hit 64 and headed east, it was beautiful blue skies the whole way home. We stopped for dinner in Teays Valley and dropped in on WVBubba at work for a bit! I meant yo get in touch with the rest of the WV crew before we got to Lexington but I forgot in the midst of the terrible weather. Nonetheless I had time to unpack the truck, install the fire and ice bar, and get everything squared away before the rain hit here!

What a GREAT GTG. This was the first round of nationals for us, and by far one of the best GTG's I've been to! Big thanks to Butch for putting all of this on. And Didit for organizing the charity. All of the members contributed and did a great job! Toots and Jomomma did a great job organizing the craft auction as well! Thank you Karl for the diodes and help with the DRL mod and Fog mod! And thank you everyone for making this a great GTG

Mom and I saw old friends and met new ones. It's so nice to put real names and faces to the screen names! Show & Shine went awesome! Talk about some heavily modded trucks!!! And clean ones to boot. 17k on a 2003 2500 blew my mind! And I've got a list a mile long of things to do before next year  >:D

Everyone will be happy to know that I was able to stick to the speed limit on the way home and was able to keep myself out of jail... For now anyways!!

I hope everyone made it home safe and the storms don't affect you too bad in the next couple of days! Hope to see all of you next year!!

I'm at 1786 after my detour and still have 100 miles or so to go. With my detour added to the mix, I have been driving in WI for 10 hours straight. Yet it's still less than half of Mark's trip.
