I think you were in front of me....

Biggest thing about the mountains is to downshift... Keep off the brakes... When you do have to brake it is better to apply them to slow down then get off them to let them cool. You only have issues when you stay on them.

Had to drive through a bunch of mountains on our way down last year so we had the technique down pretty good by the time we got there... ;)

Not sure what is happening yet so far for this year.

Cruising to the NC mountains isn't like serious up or downhill grades, or anything like that... It's leisurely highway, then main road stop lights, and the last few miles is just curvy... fun for the Corvette to do a little fast, but absolutely not a problem for the Av at a normal speed. Won't burn the breaks or your trans. 
 
I77 is a pretty steep grade, I've gone up and down that grade two dozen times in all different types of weather conditions. Luckily the Nats are in the summer, so I don't think we'll see any of the white stuff.

We won't be on that part of 77 at all. Farthest we might get is exit 36 for race shops in Mooresville.  Nowhere near the grades of Wytheville etc... The Blue Ridge area we may go to is off I85 south and then US74... nothing to worry your brakes/trans over.

Ah, the good ole days... yes that was a great time.  I love my '10, but sure do miss the old 06'  Great seeing her in action again.

I just received the second proof and the artist nailed it.  I am working out the payment process today and should have the ordering thread posted tonight, tomorrow latest.

I have seen the proof...and I can tell you... this is by far the best looking shirt that we have seen at Nationals!

It's early.  Especially with WWWV coming up.  I'm not worried.  
This is going to be a fantastic event and I am confident we'll easily break last years numbers.

Well I did forget that we as well as others come an extra night to mingle and socialize, so indeed it would be over 5 bills or close to it after taxes etc!  Just my opinion!  The more you pay for a room, the less you have for the charity, most of us don't have a money tree, thats why we try to economize, lol.
