2017 Chevy Avalanche

You should read older threads about release of a new AV.....the rumor floats around every year since we first heard about the 2013 model year being the last one.
The rumor mill has started up again since Chevy showed photos of an option package for the Silverado pickup called the High Desert model and it has some styling cues to look like an AV but it doesn't have a midgate..

...currently I'm in the market to purchase a new truck and in speaking with the Dealer he showed me some photos of the new Avalanche...he said they are expected to hit the showroom mid 2017 but he doesn't know what packages they'll be. What I was curious about is whether this is "true" and whether or not they'll make a 2500 as that's what i'm in the market for...I had not seen anything for the Silverado-thanks

The only other rumor that has been in the old threads is that a "new AV" may be coming in a smaller format such as on the Colorado frame and not a Suburban like a true AV. With all the concern over gas mileage I doubt if GM will release another 2500 AV, closest you may get is a 2500 Suburban or Silverado. From recent articles the High Desert Silverado is for 1500 trucks. I still think your salesman is showing press release photos of the High Desert Silverado and just assumes it's an AV. There is a link to some auto show unveiling of the High Desert in the older threads which will show all the features of this option package too. Were the photos labeled as a 2017 AV?

I think you're right...in looking at what he sent it looks more like a Colorado as it doesn't look full size...in the least not to mention its not a "crew cab"...it looks like its just wishful thinking :E:

Might not be a concept for long... it starts Military testing next year

Its supposed to be for the military, but would love to see a civilian version.

If the 2007 Avalanche had looked anything near to the Colorado concept, sales wouldn't have gone down.

GM blew it and forgot who buys trucks.
