2500 Brakes

Ok I haven't bought caliper brackets in years, since when did they start costing over 100 bucks per side

I'm not sure why the link says site maintenance but it works

Well curiosity got the best of me, I had to find out why the new caliper bracket cost over 100 bucks. Thanks to the rock auto discount I bit the bullet, all I'll say it's a big chunk of metal compared to stock.

Well after much thought about front calipers I decided to go with a caliper that matches the 9,900lb brackets.

And Raybestos Element 3 pads all around

Are the calipers different?? Larger??

I certainly hope not, the originals barely cleared the 16 inch wheels.Screenshot_20240304-161932.png

They will be here Thursday and I'll snap a PIC

Well if anyone is following this the caliper did come in and they are different also.
Additionally you have to use different pad sliders and caliper mounting bolts.
I received all the parts now and they are indeed different from the stock 2500 brakes.
I'm not sure why they didn't offer these as a complete kit, I had to order 1 part check the fit then order the next part then the next part.

So you got beefier OEM front calipers? Did they work with the pads and rotors? What did you actually buy?

What a pain. Yeah, seems like the smart thing to do is to offer a kit

Remember we're talking about GM, they don't make anything easy.
The rears came as a kit minus the pads the fronts are becoming that PIA.
Today I found the pads won't slide on the new pad slides so back to rockauto for new pads to the tune of 75. Bucks.
