I've heard the diameter on the exhaust is 3" to the muffler? I tried to measured them with digital calibers but didn't do a great job but it looks like pre-cats is 3" and post cats its 2.75"? Should I get 3" mufflers, would they fit properly? maybe my measuring is off? I'm not sure, any information would be great

You are correct, the 2500 exhaust is 2.75 to 3" give or take a thousandth depending on where you measure. It has a few pinch down points as it snakes through the chassis. 3" mufflers should slip right over the pipes where the stock barrel muffle is located.

I put 2-3" SS Magnaflows with duals out the side in the stock location on mine.. I had originally had a single dual in/out Flowmaster, but it rusted out and cracked down the middle in 2-3 years.

Thanks! Not much space to work with though with the exhaust hanger being about 3" or so behind the muffler and then the cat right behind that. when I bought my truck it had a magnaflow and whoever put it on did a good job because I thought it was OEM for the longest time, its very quiet on the outside and provides a nice engine noise on the inside.
