I know that this is running through a bunch of threads here...

I'm having a hard time pinning down what you guys are getting for gas mileage on the 2500.

I'm looking to get another Avalanche and why not get the big boy....

So what does your mileage for highway and city driving?

Thanks

Rick

Dang Oviedo-
Must be that dense low altitude Florida air. I get between 9 and 11 MPG in town and up to 15 MPG on the highway.

Oh well - I went ahead and put in $53 last week. I was running a little low ~32Gallons.

 my 8.1

Last Friday put in $48.00. When I started it was a tad below the 1/4 mark. On average I get about 9-10 miles/gallon in city.

** I have noticed that this is a vehicle that does not go on $5 at a time when your'e near empty. The needle will not move. I found it best to keep FULL!

   My 8.1 Also!!! ;)

Most of mine is Highway @ 80MPH except rush hour :E: My biggest fillup, was last week...$63.00  Worth every penny in MHO.

I do NOT care, If I cared I would have bought a duramax and got all my diesel for free at job sites.
14L/100km on highway, which is what I mostly do, and that is about $11 dollars to go 100kms. Weither I'm loaded or not I get about 14L/100kms. Id pay that over $1.5 dollars I would if I drove a corolla. Mind you I dont think that corolla could tow 12,000lbs. That would be a neat experiment though. >:D

My 2500 with 3.73 axle only has 1400 miles on it. I get 13.8 mpg on the highway. I expect to get at least a mpg better after the engine is broken in a bit. I love this truck!

10.5 - 12 MPG in town. Most of the time in the 11-12 range

13.5 - 14 MPG , at 75 to 80 MPH on trips

4:10's

68,000 miles with 14,000 + miles pulling a 12,000 lb trailer

I log every receipt and my average has been 10.7 mpg.

Worst tankfull:
4.6 mpg - full trailer, 40mph headwind doing 85mph with a slight upgrade - heading into Phoenix

Best tankfull:
14.7 mpg flat road no trailer and 65mph no stops until fillup.

Dave

I get about 10 around town 14-15 highway about 12 towing on the highway. I would not give up the power for the world. I am trying to squek a couple more mpg's out of it though programer exhaust air system should get a couple more mpg.

I have an 02 2500 and it's amazing to drive and there is a dramatic difference form the 1500 to the 2500.
As far as i'm concerned they only look the same.

Here in Canada the fuel prices are different from one corner to the next? At best on a full tank of GAS I mean right to the gas cap on the highway primarily at about 60 miles per hour using cruise the furthest I have gone before refill is about 730 klm 0r 450 miles. Doing only city driving the most you should expect is about 300 klm 0r 180 miles.

I did notice a slight increase after installing the K&N filter and on the highway using premium gas the mileage also improved a bit.

I think one of the keys to me getting 12-13 all the time is I use Super unleaded only. I don't care if it only got 5MPG , worth every penny (y)

The display on mine shows an average of 11.4 mpg in mixed driving with the 4.10. My last fill up cost $57 (35 gals, cutting it a little close)

Gas here is currently $1.46 per gallon. I just put $50.00 in yesterday to fill her up. My 2500 is a 4X4 with 3.73 gears . I average 10 in the city and about 13.2 highway. The hardest thing for me is to keep my foot out of it. When I first got her in late Nov 2002 my mileage was around 8mpg's city and 10mpg's highway. But hey sometimes you've just got to let the beast bear her fangs. I've actually driven the 1500 AV and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it's performance but TRUST ME, there is a difference. ;D ;D ;D
