2nd Annual Laughlin Nevada GTG 01/28/05 - 01/31/05

What timeframe is everyone getting to Big Bend after Oatman?

That Saturday, my wife and I will have to shoot up to Vegas. Have to see about getting a P.O. Box, before going over to DMV (NV).

I would imagin arriving sometime between 1-3pm at Big Bend... At least thats what I am thinking.

OK, that must be Friday. Where's the moddin'? in the Flamingo parking lot? If that's 1-3 PM Sat, are we heading to Oatman then?

Where should I(we) be on Friday morning? FRS: Ch. 7 (If I can find them!)

Friday go to the Flamingo. We have reserved parking along the south fench line.
I believe some modding is being done then. What modding does not get done then, saturday after Oatman would be a great time to do it in a park setting where others can tailgate and the kids can run.

Oatman is Saturday... Big Bend is after Oatman. Last year we were finished with Oatman about noon or there abouts if I remember correctly.

Lake Havasu is Sunday.

See you there,
Todd

Thats good news.

I am looking forward to this weekend.

My new av gets its first road trip. Got to break it in more. It will be one month old and it has 3 mods done. I am trying to pick what will be done next.

I need an 05 to confirm if an earlier Cluster will restore all the DIC functions. So, if you have st. Wheel controls/DIC and have any interest in that, let me know! It won't leave you with more DIC functions at that point, rather, it will just show whether a replacement cluster will restore the functions GM left out of the 05's, so we would all know the result.

I don't know if it is something I want yet. Hit me up when we get there to discuss further.

Last year we were late for the shootout - they do that earlier in the winter, apparently (did they say?); that was later in the afternoon. Notice the long shadows on the Silvercreek road on our way back! It was dark when the Av's were washed. If we want time at Big Bend, Oatman has to be earlier. (Or V-V.)

I am thinking the time line should work fine if we get the cravan rolling on time..

See you all tomorrow!

Todd

. .. ...UPDATE... .. .
We have Parking Area "J" in the Flamingo parking lot.
Check with the Valet parking attendant and they will tell you where to park.

Thanks to Todd and everyone else whose efforts made this just a great get together. Great job!  ;D

This was another HUGE success. I had a great time... It's great to be able to hang out with our AZ-Av friends... We kind of need to do something like this more than once a year... Thanks to Todd and everyone that mad this such a fun GTG...

Thanks to Todd and all the others that helped put this together. It was great to meet some of the people to put faces to the screen names. Except for the cold rain at the park on Sat. afternoon, it was a wonderful time and I enjoyed seeing what others have done to their trucks.....next two mods: carpeted dog platform for rear seats and bed slide.

Todd - Thanks for a great weekend!
To ALL of the Av family that was able to attend - Nice Job!
Good times, Great people, and Awesome trucks! It's really great to spend the weekend with some real neat people. We took my wifes parents, who had no clue what to expect, and they loved it. They were really impressed with the attention to detail on the trucks, and the quality of the people they met.
I think my father - in -law is ready to by an AV!

Thanks for a great time.

Nick & Darlene

We made it home about 8pm today. We enjoyed our side trip to vegas after laughlin. It was nice to spend 24 hrs there to check out what has changed in almost 12 years.

amd - thanks again for organizing this weekend. I think the total count ended up being 26 avs. I missed counting how many people.

We had a really good time. It was good to see everyone again and meet some new av'ers. We could have done without the rain but nature does what it wants. At least it held out enough to get our pictures at the park on saturday. It was nice to drive my new truck over the london bridge myself this time around.

Great job Todd! Fun trip as usual, despite the weather and breakdown issues.

What was it last year 21, 24?  31 this time, hopefully 40 or 50 next time..!

And we need to mention the excellent choice of the Flamingo-Laughlin Hotel & Casino. Really good folks there - security, management and all; well coordinated, really good rates and friendly.

My friend at work enjoyed her stay there with her motorcycle club. It turns out that they had a similar itinerary. Maybe communicate with them next year for ideas. (She own's an Av too.)

Thanks to all who planned this trip, Todd and company.  Thanks to King Mike for helping me get there  :) and to all the nice people.  Maybe one day Rik will let me have my spare back.... LOL  Who let him play in the mud anyway?  That was fun talking on the FRS walkies.  Hope Grey is back on the road and my arm still is some from where that darn donkey bit me.  See yall next year

You need a Nav system Steve!

You made it home anyway....

Was it fun...? Too bad so many folks missed it...

I want to thank everyone that came this year, everyone that helped, and a special thank you to my wife. We had a lot of fun in spite of the rain.

We ended up with 26 Avalanche registration forms filled out, 13 from AZ, 11 from CA, 1 from NM, and 1 from NV. Total of 64 people.

See you at the next GTG!
Todd, Darla & TJ

adding in my Thank you's to Todd and everyone who put this together.  Autumn and I had a great time meeting everyone.  This was our first but definitely not last GTG.  I was very happy with how friendly and helpful everyone was, I even got to do an unexpected mod! (hood wind deflector, faux carbon fiber).  Now that we have a digital camera I hope to finally post pictures of my AV and the GTG online soon.  We had a lot of fun and look forward to meeting up with some of the Arizona AVs here soon.  Thanks everyone!

Thank you Todd and everyone else who had a hand in organizing the meet.
Ken and I had a fantastic time! (y)
It was great to see everyone again and meet so many new people.

P.S. I don't know who exactly started Marshmallow War IV... but SoCal claims victory!? ;)
I hope everyone had as much fun as we did!

Let's do it all again SOON!
