Hey, I just wanted to see if anyone was interested in cruising the beautiful White Mtns. of New Hampshire this fall. Check out this link and see the preliminary talks.

Yea bob, I'm looking forward to seeing you too but this time I hope not to see your Avs rear bumper so closely. Remeber the close call last year?

This could be very interesting... A bit of a long haul (Although a third of the distance for TNAV  ) but the biggest concern is the date and what work will be doing then (it's very hard for me to predict.)

The sunset cruise sounds awesome, but did you see the vehicle restrictions for the auto road? It says nothing wider than 80", including mirrors. The official specs on the Av are 79.8" wide, but that is without the mirrors. I measured the mirror span on mine, and it is 92" or a full foot wider than the max.

But the question is: for the sunset tour, if the road is closed to the public, we probably don't have to worry about oncoming traffic. Does that mean that the width restriction may not apply?

This probably needs to be checked out and confirmed before any reservations are made, or we just might be dissapointed. :6:

C'mon now SS.
We dragged practically the whole NE chapter up to Niagara. We expect to see you guys down here. ;D
Just kiddin', but we hope to see ya there. Besides we know how a true Avalancher can't resist a good GTG. And there's nothing better than NE in the fall. (y)

This year, I'm gonna have my upgraded brakes installed. ;)

I was up there last year and their biggest concern was that I didn't crawl down the mountain too slowly for other cars since I have "all those low gears." Um, okay.

Now if you're in a Lincoln newer than a 1967, you're SOL.

Oh, and my understanding from talking to them was that yes, you do go up after the road is closed to other traffic.

Yeah, I know... I'm a driving wimp! :-[ (I guess being only 23 miles from the Niagara Falls GTG spoiled me. :-X )

Now, get 91 Avs to show up, and you know I'll be there! >:D

Agreed on both accounts. (y)

While the drive is somewhat of a concern, the bigger issue is the date and work. My schedule is very unpredicatable more than a month or so out (I do consulting, and have to work when work is available: No work, no pay, so there is a strong incentive to work a job if it's available.)

I just figured it's better safe than sorry. I'd hate to arrive with a bunch of determined Avers and be turned away for a matter of a few inches. (But then again, let's see them try to stop a bunch of determined Avs. >:D )

First off it wasn't a wall it was a mountain, and the damn thing jumped out in front of me .
As long as I have brakes that work, I'll definitely be there. (y)

Absolutely. I have a name and phone number to call whenever we settle on a date.

Damn mountains, always running off to find prophets, and they never look before crossing the road. ;)

Drive time between Salem area and Mt Washington???

Maybe we can get a dealer in that area and use it as our meet point until ??pm ish
then head up to Mo-Hotel then onto the Big Mt

This year you can probably ride right over it.

Can't wait, can't wait but please lets pick a date ;)

As stated at cafcne, we've picked October 15th - 17th. Gotta make some calls to see where we stand for lodging and activities, so stay tuned.
