OK,... here is a true test:
How many of you have found that in 4x4 low, the auto upshifts a a mere 3000-3500 rpm's and not at red-line?
I was suprised to find this when hill climbing in the dunes. All other GM trucks, (and ahh.. those F things) would rev right up to or near red line at WOT, then shift,... but not the AV!
So,.. I just manually upshift & downshift.

I haven't run into that yet, but I tend to just manually downshift anyway. No matter how the tranny behaves, I don't want it deciding to shift right when I'm slipping sideways down a slope and need the traction!

Interesting that other GM trucks seem to be different...if I read your post correctly... is it perhaps a setting in the computer?

OK,.. here is a test of a real off roader. Have any of you driven the AV in low range, wide open throttle? Mine upshifts at about 3000-3500 rpm, even when climbing steep hills. My previous truck & Cadi Escalade would run up to red line and shift, but not this one.
So,... I now manually upshift & downshift to climb the sand hills.
