im looking for a speaker that can handle some good power?. its going to be powered by a jl 300/4 im also installing 2 12'' alpine type r with the jl 500/1

:welcome:

Dont know the max depth on the 07's...surely someone will chime in.

:welcome: Avalanche Lv, is that 4 Las Vegas?? If so, i hear they have nice GTG's.

About the speakers...i cant help u this time, i have an '06.

yes it is for las vegas, not sure what GTG's mean?

GTG is the forum acronym for a get-together, a group of members all meeting up for good food and good time typically, sometimes for modding sessions etc. Look in the section for your area and you'll find plenty of info.  :B:

oh cool thanks for the info.

maybe you can help me with this question. i went to the store and listen to various speakers. the one like like is the infinity reference 6022i. its a coaxial. my concern is that they are 2 ohm indepence. i have a four channel amp. if i want to install a seperate pair of tweeters in the pilars what ohm indepence will i end up with if i have two 2ohm speakers and two  4 ohm tweeters hooked up to the same channels?  in other words a 2 ohm speaker and a 4 ohm tweeter hooked up to one channel. my amp is stable from 1.5-4ohm and gives the same watts 75rms out.

well i have an 02 avi and i got type rs in my fronts so i dont c y they wouldnt work for u. im actually thinkin about puttin some type x's in my fronts now

I don't know how you plan to do that.  You couldn;t find any component speakers?  I don't know how you would have them both on the same amp line without a crossover.  And if you did have a crossover, I don't know how that would end up ohmwise.

Hey guy's,

I just blew a front speaker yesterday and need ideas for replacements. How are these Alpine Type R's? What about the X's AllOut's talking about?
I have the stock head unit & amp at this time, but when I replace the speakers I will put some Dynamat in the doors to help deaden noise.

Thanks in advance for your time...

Tony
