I love the fact that you are sitting on the rotors and your Avy is still 6 inches taller than mine!!!!!!

Where is the helper when you needed her.

haha, she was running the camera this time.

I thought so LOL,  I can't wait till you fire it up I'm thinking about 500 hp since a stock one is 403

Since you now have easy access, are you going to hit that frame with some rust treatment before you put the new engine in?

Ditto on the frame prep.. No better time and easier to get to the frame especially the inside, eastwood has some good products.

Yes, I'm buying some degreaser today, and a gravity feed sand blaster. I'm going to clean it up and then put some Por15 on it.

Impatient to see your truck ride!

Question: the 6.2l have the same mounting bracket? or you do adapt to connect on the frame?

Surely that's not tranny fluid in the pan the tranny is sitting in? It looks more like motor oil!

Yes sadly it is. This trans has clearly never been serviced in the 130K+ miles on it.  It also smells horrible, I've never smelled trans fluid this bad. Makes rear end fluid smell like flowers.

Think you're going to need more than a shift kit for that trans.   :(

Agreed. But the looks of the fluid, I hope you are replacing clutches and steels.

It's out of the AV and this would be a great time to replace some of the weak components with some new/heavy duty in that trans since your putting more power in front it and maintenance has been negelected.

Other wise you may find problems surfacing quickly and it going out on you and having to pull it out again..

Considered upgrading it, but even upgraded the 4L60's are still weak. I'm just gonna throw it back together until this one lets go, and then go with a 4L80, or 6L80 when the time comes. I'm running low on funds for this rebuild! haha.

Sounds like a good plan..

I would love a 6L80, I wish they weren't so expen$ive and I don't think there's a simple coversion for mine, yet..

I have the 6L80. Its pretty difficult to get upgrade kits for it like the 4 speeds. I gotta figure out something to be able to beef it up
