6.2L L92 Modification and Swap into 2008 Avalanche

nice build! I know that since I bought my av I went from not knowing what I was looking at under a hood to feeling pretty confident to tackle anything. I would say that the most important part is the willingness to learn.

Yeah, that would be the challenging part.

Yea, I always had the other parts of the list covered but seemed to sometimes come up short on the MONEY part. It's that Want and Need list that can slow you down sometimes. The best part is that here some of the guys knowledge can save you $ and that is worth a lot.

Wow, that looks awesome! Was thinking of a trip to DR this coming spring.

Also, is that an MK4 in your garage (I have a 2000 as my daily driver now and only use the AV on weekends.)

Definitely take a video for us when you get it running.

Nope it's a Mercedes C280 (It's just recently been repaired and upgraded as well haha) if you run out of things to do on the internet you can check out that build thread here:

*****First Start Video*****

Okay, here it is, the moment of truth, after fixing the ground issue, and letting the fuel pump prime with a couple turns of the key, I went ahead and cranked her over! Of course, gotta get a tune, it's still running on the 5.3L tune, idling way to high, and it's open headers right now.

Sweet I kind of like the sound. (y)

Were you able to use the same core support? I have noticed that in the engine bay of my 2009 that there is a good bit of room from the back of the core support to the forward-most part of the engine. It seems like it would fit in there with a good bit of clearance

Better video of it running. Still not tuned.

Yes, core support is the same. The 6.2L and 5.3L have the same external dimensions.

Cant wait to see the tune on her man. Are you going to dyno it as well? I am also excited to hear about how well you like the difference of the 5.3 going to the 6.2

yes it will be dyno tuned.  Too bad I didn't have a baseline to start from.. but oh well.

You think to make a brake job on it?
Biggest rotor etc...?

I have the Z06 Brakes from my Corvette that will be going on there. Waiting on the brackets.
