Looks great, how does it sound? And wow that's a lot of rust down there.

It sounds pretty good, now that my tuner has done some tweaking on it (delete VVT, DOD, and Some timing/fuel).  Still have to schedule the full dyno tune.

I like the cut outs but it seems like they hang pretty low and for looks and offroad ability anything hanging low will get damaged...
they are a little lower than I would have liked, but I never really go so far off road that I'd bottom out. haha.

I was thinking that after getting it tuned, just to see what it'd do.

Yeah a stock Escalade can do a mid 14 in the quarter mile with the 6 speed tranny and AWD, I'm guessing it will do low 13s to high 12s

Got the new Differential Cover installed.  Looks way better than the factory, and doesn't leak!

Was a nice day here in Oklahoma, so I decided to go finish up some details I've been meaning to do for awhile.

dyno tune happened today.

Ended up making 382HP and 378TQ so I'm happy with that.  That's about 500 at the crank given 20 to 25 percent drivetrain loss.

Not bad I kinda thought you be around there. (y)

Now track time. >:D

So all this done in less than 3 months. Nice job and good time. Good thing had the helper to take up the slack.  (y)

Should have been faster, but had real life getting in the way all the time! haha.

Finally got around to installing the Train Horn kit that the Garage Helper got me almost 3 years ago!

Installed the airtank, Garage Helper came to check on progress.

Installed the air compressor.

You are gonna LOVE that setup!!!

Almost identical to mine, but I managed to keep everything up front, and out of the elements.

(P.S. you may wanna add a regulator, as the horns sound best around 150-160 PSI)

CLICK ON PIC for more train horn install info...

AtomicVette how is the truck holding up.

It's been a while!  Truck's doing great! I've upgraded to some new wheels and 37" tires now. I'm having the "stabilitrack abs traction control" disabled dashboard message randomly. Haven't had time to track it down yet.. I assume a faulty speed sensor somewhere.

(y) Good to hear from ya.

Man almost forgot about this post. I've got an 07 5.3 LTZ that a want to change motors in due to towing our camper. Just went to engine/machine shop yesterday to get quotes on purchasing a built motor from them compared to buying used 6.2 that I could just drop in!

FWIW you can bolt on a Magnacharger in about 16 hours.  That is what I did with my 5.3L and it pulls up to 7,000lbs in any situation without any funny business.  Depending on your skills and the parts availability of a 6.2L, it might be a better option.  It will also net you more power and at a better RPM band.

Check out this place.... This is likely where I will be getting my motor... Will be going with the 6.2 built for a Magnuson SC.

Got any threads on your 30th? One of my Fav cars.

This is a great build thread btw and the helper adds a lot of eye candy :)
I will be looking to do something with my 5.3 in the near future to help towing the boat etc.
Thoughts range from rebuild it and add a supercharger or go with a 6.0, 6.2
Just trying to keep budget to a minimum as I already have enough projects going on already.
