8.1 no start and link to old sytle crankshaft position sensor

I am having an intermintant issues with the engine not starting after shutting it off.  It ususally starts on the 3 try 5-10 minutes later.  Starter and engine turns over just doesnt start.  Would this be related to the  crankshaft position sensor?  I have an early 02 8.1, (10/01). 

I also was trying to find the post on old style vs new style  crankshaft position sensor.

Definitely CPS.  I'm not sure on the link, but these are the exact symptoms of a CPS.

That sounds exactly what was happening to mine. My production date is 4/02. The part number is 12575172.
