My climate control would sometimes work normally, but would sometimes engage the blower speed on high and not throttle down as the cabin cooled down. This was due to a faulty "aspirator" which is in the headliner to the driver's left. This sucks in cabin air against a sensor which tells the control what the cabin temp is. Mine was reading 118 degrees, therefore the fan speed would never drop with this reading. Replacement of the aspirator fixed the problem. FYI

thats some good info, thanks

thats what what they call that thingy "aspirator"....cool. ?That must mean there is a little vacuum pump attached to it to catch an air sample. ?does the pump run constantly or is it intermittent...say 5 seconds out of every 60 seconds.

Also does it measure temp via an rtd, thermocouple, or some type of air density measurement

Is the aspirator the little round thing with holes in it? (see pic)

If it is, I may have even yelled into it when I first talked to Onstar :2: You know a guy could freeze himself with enough hot air going into that thing! ;D ;D

Yup - that round thing is for the climate control. Your OnStar microphone is located on the center console on the driver side. It is black and can be seen if you lower the sun visor on the driver side.

Well that explains why every time I said "CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW" into it, the AC came on

Yeah, I thought the aspirator was part of Onstar also since they told me there's more than one Mic installed incase one doesn't work in an accident. I'm glad to know what it is too.

Yeah.I admit I was talking into it like an ASSpirator too when I first got the truck. I was told there is a little fan that draws the air in across the sensor. ;D
