Well something bad happened to it to have a salvage title. Have fun figuring that out.

Looks like a clean report you got.

If your title says "salvage" then it WAS in an accident and the insurance company determined it would cost more to fix it correctly than it was worth. It's often hard to get insurance or re-sell a vehicle that has a salvage title.

2 owners is good, probably the ONE guy who owned it and then it was signed over to the repair shop who patched it up and then sold it to you, so at least most 1st owners of cars take good care of their vehicles - probably was bummed when it was totaled.

This $9000 in damage accident does not show up on the carfax for my other car either. Most are not reported.

so most probably owner 1OR 2 was involved in accident?? and any guess about the repair done ie. is this AV safe for everyday driving??!!

First: Thank you for getting a carfax..

Second: Not good about the being totalled... I personally would dump it, but I understand that it might not be easy for you to find a new one in your location.... If you think it feels ok driving, and a repair shop says it appears safe to drive, go for it.

Third: I know that when I traded in my Silverado (had $13,000 damage from a accident I had) I had to sign a wavier saying that it was never determined TOTALLED by insurance company, they did not care about that damage I did... So I am interested in how a shop resold it after being totalled..

Sorry I am not much help, and sorry for your situation on the Avy :6:

Yes and maybe.

Yes owner 1 or 2 was involved in a total loss accident if the title says "salvage" (there are a couple other ways this could happen, but that is the most common)

Like I said, chances are it was owner 1. THEN a bodyshop bought the vehicle from the insurance company for "salvage price" and made repairs they felt needed to be made. This almost AWLAYS shows up as a vehicle purchase and thus another "owner"

Quality of his repairs: I have no idea. I can't see the truck. I don't know who did the repairs. Do you know who it was? Can you talk to them? What is your feeling of their work quality and ethics? Some are REALLY good, and some are REALLY bad.

Can you post some pictures of the repairs? Maybe some closeups of some details. It't really one of those things you have to touch and look at to determine. You might take it to a shop you trust and have them look at it. I had that done with one of my cars. Guy said the repairs looked good, and he would have done a couple different things, but in his expert opinon it looked like it was quality work.

If the title says salvage... STAY AWAY!!!! A vehicle never drives right after it has been totaled. Let me guess, it is only like 15 grand or something..

Look, honestly, Sometimes people buy these things and restore them VERY WELL!!!! Just be VERY careful. It's like buying a 66 mustang that has been restored... You never know. I would rather buy it in it's totalled form and redo it myself, than buy a "prior salvage" from someone else. Chances are, Owner 1 totaled the truck probably in the front end, airbags deployed, cladding screwed up frame bent blah blah blah appx 15k in damage. Owner 2 bought it from the insurance company, and brought it back to life. Nuts and bolts, BRING THIS VEHICLE BACK UNLESS YOU HAVE A TRUSTED MECHANIC / BODY PERSON LOOK AT THE VEHICLE. Best of luck with the avy.

Did you know that it was a prior salvage when you bought it? Do you realize how hard it is going to be to sell it in the future?

Have dealer look at it...then another repair shop look at it.....and see what they say.....

Sometimes things can be repaired...

sadly I knew it was Salvage after I bought&regeistered it seen a copy certificate of title with SALVAGE written on it and this SALVAGED AV cost me $ 47,000 including customs&registration, you see I loose both ways If I keep AND sell :( thats the tragedy. as for checking the vehicle for body damage YES dealer&independent shop verified it been in frontal collision and repaired service manager at GM says collison repair looks satisfactory and I dont feel any abnormality when driving ie. alignment OR vibration probs common to vehicles that been repaired after collisions

I had a car once that had a salvage title. It was because more than $6,000 in damage was done to the car (The DMV slapped it on there even though the insurance co. didn't total it and did repair it). I found out about it after the fact as well.
I never had any serious problems with the car though other than just wear and tear. The only major thing was having to replace the clutch after 160,000 mi. Other than that: I had a couple of hoses wear out and I rebuilt the alternator. I had that car for 6 years when I sold it.

I wish what you say can make me feel better about my AV because the painful fact is it been in a frontal collision and I CANT do a thing about that now just live with it :-[ although the guy at GM dealer said it dont appear having any effect on drivabilty of the vehicle , i insisted they check the vehicle from below ie. frame, steering components etc..

Well if u cant do a thing about it, and the dealer said it "don't" appear to be having problems, stop posting questions about it... live and learn... your tempting many of us who have already received TOS VIOLATIONS to get another...

AND JOE... That was so funny I had to fill my wife in on the whole scenario and then read her the thread up to ur comment... Hilarious....
