AC blows hot one side

I been reading since the first post. Seems like everyone has the same issue, hot on drivers side, cold on passenger.
My issue is the opposite. Cold on drivers, hot on passenger. It's been this way for a few years, never cared before cause I never sit over there.

After trying all the easy fixes, it remains the same. Which of the actuators do I need to replace? Some of the pictures in this thread no longer show.

2006 Z-66 Avy. Blowing Hot Driver, Cold Passenger.

I removed my 10A AC Fuse from inside the cab fuse box, for about 1-min. Fixed for now.

My 2009 did this yesterday on the way to work.
AC on, blows ice cold on passenger side, hot on driver side.
After work, on the way home, was working correctly again.
Still good this morning.  :cautious:

My 2009 is doing this again.
Except this time it is cold driver's side, warm passenger side.

The rolleyes smiley isn't working.  I'd roll my eyes at that, but it's not working.  :p

OMG don't tell me this is still going on on the GMT900s!!!!!?????? I hadn't seen that this was still an issue, argh...

Chef Dave i had that same  problem in my 2003 avalanche on one side hot the other cold two different temperatures what works for me is on the hot side i put the temperature knob on to 82 on the cold side i put the temperature knob on to 60. I?m not saying it will work for you but try it anyway and oh yes check the ac fuse and follow those instructions if needed.        G C

Good morning Gwyn. The thread you are replying to is quite old, the last post was in 2016.
Coincidentally I had this  issue on Friday. After disconnecting the battery to weld a nut onto a broken bolt, I had hot air on drivers and cold on passenger when calling for 60 degree AC. I shut the truck off and restarted and luckily all was well again, and has worked for the last 4 days without issue. I guess my problem was the actuator had to re-learn, but not exactly sure since it fixed itself.

Installed my lower hvac actuator today…the one on the passenger side just above the transmission hump. It has worked perfectly today and that maddening click is gone! (y) I got an ac delco off Amazon for $49. I tried pulling the fuse reset but it only worked for a day or two then it would go back to heat on the left and cold on the right but the clicking never went away. I took the old actuator apart and the grease had piled up on one end and might have hindered the movement causing the clicking noise of the gears trying to push through the pile of grease…IDK. Anyway, it’s 50 bucks well spent IMO! I’ll post back if this one goes south but I’m happy the clicking is gone and I’m cool so far!

Well my 05 Z71 has done this blowing hot air for about a month…maybe 3 times but always shut down start up worked..until today😩
AC worked great from Fl to Pa then sitting in parking lot for 15 min and hot air on passenger…ugh.. went though the usual tricks and back to cold..then driving out the parking lot and Hot again on passenger..

read this thread and tried all the tricks..nada but in the process of tricks I had found that the Alternator is not charging properly and wants to stahl like constantly without the battery hooked up..

I ordered a new alternator..Friday it will be installed and hopefully by then the AC will be working or I’ll pull and test the actuator…from what I read it doesn’t seem too bad on the 05s👊🏻…or am I wrong?

^^^ Update ^^^ It’s been a month and the new actuator has been working perfectly. I took a 500 mile trip a couple of weeks ago and in the August heat of N.C. the a/c worked great and the clicking has not returned!

UPDATE—

well I put the new alternator in and OhMy how it runs better…my key fob actually works again..
😳

Installed a new Blend door actuator.. could they make it any harder?

I had to take apart the dash and the ac metal bar to brace up the ac duct and get enough room to get the 7/32 socket on the nut… (I looked everywhere for a 7/32 offset wrench..nada)

From my guess is the old actuator got water in it, think condensation from the ac ducts…
So I put a little silicone around the connector just in case it wants to do it again cause I’ll trade this in before I replace that again..
I have 3 small bolts left over..shows how much of a mechanic I am
🤣
🤣

Add my 2004 AV to the List of Drivers Side Blowing hot air from Hades. Passenger side blows cold. It happened after Battery was replaced. I cannot believe GM hasn’t addressed this issue with a recall…

recalls are for safety issues.

having hot air from one vent is not a safety issue.

add my 05 EXT to the list...I left my flashers on while parked illegally and loading up some junk...it made the battery go dead...I jumped it and when I got in one side was blowing hot. I disconnected the battery twice with no change. Is there a climate control reset? I know on fords if you push a combination of buttons it resets?
The only good thing that came of this is that my check engine light went out with the battery disconnect...I am getting tired of this thing breaking...it recently has beenleaving a trail of rear end fluid on my driveway. Luckily I only have 8 months left on the lease...the real question is do I get another 12 mpg pig that breaks a lot or do I try something diferent? :E:
