I have a 2004 Avalanche. I am having problems with my AC. It will blow cold, on both sides, while the vehicle is idling. After I drive it for a bit, the does not blow cold. It will blow cool, but not as cold as it should. The system is fully charged. I don't know if this is a blend door issue, or not. Any help would be appreciated.

What does not blow cold? both or one?

Explain better?
ARe both sides the same?
If one as should be but the other is not cold then blend door issue.

If both warm then could be blend door and or AC system issue

I have an 07 Avalanche. It was blowing cold out of 1 vent. Unhook battery for 3 or more mins then rehook. It will reboot comp.

YGMN. I have edited my post for clarity.

Hope this is more explanatory.
Thanks in advance for any help.

How do you know that the system is fully charged? Has a manifold gauge set been used to check the high and low pressures?

A lot of information can be gained by taking those numbers into account. The AC system is a balance of those numbers. If one, the other, or both is incorrect, your system will be less efficient or stop working. Too much pressure is a possibility.

A blend door issue could be causing heat to mix with the AC when it shouldn't, Which would cause it to lose it's chill as the engine warms up. Which points to the temperature control system or a bad actuator.

Well, I had to have the water pump replaced. After the replacement, the air is working. Both side blowing cold.

Not sure how that fixed it unless you needed new fan clutch with water pump.

Well, i cant really say that the problem and solution really line up.

edit: Whoops, got some issues crossed here. Yeah, i suppose ygmn is right. A new fan clutch would make sense.
