Active fuel management issue on 08 Avalanche ltz flex fuel 5.3

I replaced afm lifters and vlome on my truck upon restart its staying in 4cl. Mode remived valve cover and the rockers are not moving on afm lifters thought computer issue so i replaced it with no change in issue

Deactivate solenoid plate i replaced all afm lifters, Dorman deactivation solenoid plate under plenum and replaced computer im under the impression you have to change cam and switch out lifters to delete the afm system. Didnt think you could bypass it with the afm delete module without doing the other changes

I think he is referring to the VLOM (Valve Lifter Oil Manifold).

That is the device that sits under the intake manifold that routes the oil to the AFM lifters to activate and deactivate the AFM features.

Typically, an AFM hardware delete replaces the VLOM along with the AFM lifters and cam AND turns off the AFM in the engine's computer.

I wonder if the program changes were not made when the hardware was changed.

You can turn off AFM with computer programmer or module.

Range Tuner

Hey guys and gals! Anyone out there using the Range Tuner in the ODB? I got mine in and it works fantastic! It shuts down the Active fuel management and keeps it in 8cyl all the time. My trucks mpg also went up by 3 mpg and I’m saving my lifters! Let me know what y’all think?

plus there are other module thingys and none require you to replace engine internals.

I didnt do a delete i replaced afm lifters and vlom and the ecm after because i thought that might of been causing my issue truck ran great until the afm lifter stuck

Im thinking something electrical kinda now. Want it fixed but dont want to buy anything it doesnt need also. I've got a lot of labor and cash for the parts in it at this point. appreciate any imput!
