Does anyone now where I can find out how to add an extra 12 volt power outlet to the center console. I need to know just about everything, from where to tap in to the power and what kind of extra 12 volt power outlet to buy. I am extremely green with all of this, but if I don't give it a shot... I'll never be able to do it in the future. I thought I saw a thread here on time, but can't seem to find it.

Any and all info is appreciated.

Run a search and you will find what others have done.
I put one in my 2002 it was simple

For all of those who put a n outlet in there 2002.

WHEN NOT IN USE COVER UP THAT POWER OUTLET!!!

I was driving down the road the other day and reached into the console for something and all of the sudden I had a light show suprise.

A dime flipped out of the coin holder and landed perfectly in the power outlet  and after sparking a few times blew a fuse.

A dime fits perfectly in that hole and is quite hard to remove, it falls in there real east though. ;)LOL
No harm done but it did suprise me.

Hey kcole,

Thanks for the reply. I still wasn't able to find exactly what I am needing. Where did you hook up for the power supply and where did you put the ground?

Thanks

Sparky,
One Member had added one inside the compartment of the center console. Not sure where that thread is, but will try to locate.

It wasdone by splicing into the existing wires. Now for the type of outlet.I would use GM# 12450044 Housing & GM# 15092039 F-Retainer. These are the item I ordered from Jeff Friley of DeLillo Chevrolet. The housing is the receptacle. The F-Retainer is the spring-loaded cover.
