This is my first post, and I would like to say, this is an excellent site. Since the 07 LS doesn't have the fog lights, how hard would it be to install, and where would I find the kit?

  :welcome:

go to the search link and use  "  in front and behind what your looking for, it makes it easier. Or just wait and someone will come along to show you the thread.

Have fun with it, this site will be very useful  (y)

I used APC Halo fogs on my 07 LS and they are slightly larger in diameter than OEM Fogs and fill the holes much better. Took a little bit to get the holes drilled and mounted in there, but end result it nice.

Low beams are 8000K 35W HIDs
Fogs are original APC bulbs (55W Halogen H3c Bulbs) converting to HID soon

i made custom switch panel (see my truck album in signature), hooked lights up with the wiring provided in the kit. i neglected to hook them to parking lights (fixing that soon), so they can be left on and leave me w/ a dead battery.
the aiming took some time, but wasn't too hard.

bgruhn76, did you get around to wiring up your fog lights to the factory switch? I want to add the fog lights, but I want to integrate them in to the factory switch, even if I have to buy a new switch with the fog light option.

Actually, I don't plan on doing that. I made a custom switch panel in my overhead console.
I just need to wire them into the parking light fuse so they go off with the lights...no more dead batteries that way.  :E: :E:

Can you throw a link this way? I checked their site and did not find a lot of info.

Thanks raidergus...that looks like the kit I am looking for. Do you have the LS model avalanche? What year?

I ordered the fog light kit from gmpartsdirect and they will be here this weekend...hoping to spend Sunday putting them in. I've searched for a thread on installation, but come up empty. Anyone have any suggestions? I am also going to install the amber DRL's while I'm at it.

I have an '08 LS and the GMPartsDirect kit worked wonderfully. It came with really detailed instructions for the installation too, so don't worry about not finding a detailed install thread. I couldn't find one either, but with this kit I didn't need one. My buddy and I were able to install the kit in about an hour or so.

BTW - I've seen posts saying that you may need to have the dealership modify the ECU or something to that effect, but it wasn't necessary for me. Not sure if everyone else's will be the same or not.

Good job on the before and after! I have the 5000k 50w HID's. What a difference! Not sure if you really would need fog's after that upgrade...lol

Ok thanks.

Installed the foglights in about 2 hours...you guys were right, the kit does come with very detailed instructions/pictures. It really changes the look of the front end.  (y)

Chit, wish i woulda caught this earlier. I replaced the factory fogs with Hella micro DE's. They cost $100 a pair with all the wiring. 100% better lighting upgrade than what came from the stock lamps.

Do they still have the stock look? Do you have any pics you can share?
